All good, maybe your temps are not the same? Either way, this intermittent lock issue sucks. It is 2020 Launch. A tailgate shouldn't piss me off on mountain or Lowe's trips.
I actually disassembled all of the linkage on the actuator. I measured everything 50/50 in the middle. It's an improvement, but still at 80% unlock luck. Really a pain to break out the key... My dealership said, they could not replicate the issue. Hmmn, maybe Jeeps don't like 5000ft above sea level?
I fully agree, grease should be king here. I might have to check the date on last actuator install. Maybe its still under warranty? And, yes they wanted $600 for the last one, before I proved my extended warranty. I will add both fobs, new batteries...
So this is the 2nd factory tailgate actuator failure. Lock, the piston is down, easy with gravity. Unlock on the piston it is vertical, this is a problem. Also I feel the spring or cam is too much pressure for unlock mode to be flawless every time. I have adjusted the main rods to fully...
Yes, I'm in the same boat. And yes I have been in the HVAC/R industry for 30 years. This system sucks! 30°-50° ambient it's dying to get the cabin to 60°, no matter if I want Luke warm air in my face or not. I have a commercial auto changeover thermostat in my home that can choose between A/C or...
Thanks Bill for the warranty info, i get batteries and drain can be complicated! I will certainly stop by my dealership before this next new battery fully crashes, again for #3... I don't use any alarms or uconnect, but I get the constant bleed issue. I didn't design the 70k rig that needs...
This story has gone on too long! LE Rubicon, worked 1 year great. Then drama. Dealer batteries replaced 1st time, 2nd stop just charged, say I'm not driving it enough!? High load camping with gear up canyon 80mph 9k elevation, then works for 1 week, then dead for months. I dont want to add a...

Has anyone tried an Optima battery? I have one in my 96 911 that works great. Only trickle charged mid winter for low temps or snow. It's going on 6-7 years no jumps. Took my truck on another high load 6% freeway camping trip again. ESS working 1 week, but turned it off a few times due to 100...
Good luck my friend. They changed my batteries months ago, then failed again, did 3hr recharge. 2nd time, said I'm not driving enough , now back on this post, round 3. Hopefully your experience is positive.
Ya, I'm at a loss... It actually worked flawlessly almost a year... Maybe higher Amp alt, AMG, who knows? A tazer is the only aftermarket electrical item added for tire/gear change. And of course a Warn winch. I even have full LED pkg which should make the system happier. Anyway, thanks for any...
Got that right! I think I'm going to start monitoring my Volts and log what's going on as well... I mean I bought a Rubicon Launch, so these options were already on my rig. With that, I supposedly got the better alternator, cooling systems etc... Also, I just bought a solar/battery pack for my...
Well that lasted exactly 1 week... ESS not working again, always charging... this system is lame! Not an option I would order, more annoying than anything. So with this, add stupid side mirror alarm while offloading and one full brake system lockup while doing 70mph seeing overpass? I will say...
Just an update.... went camping, fully loaded Grizzly 75 cooler full, firewood, 70# canvas tent, chairs etc... Drove up a 6% grade highway here at 70+, then to a campsite 9k ft elevation. Anyway, today ESS worked for the first time in months! So, in short, to save a miniscule amount of gas...
So I suppose, I use a trickle charger daily to use the option this truck came with... Or I can install a small generator to power this feature! Yes, either solar panel on the hood, a diesel generator, or belt driven 2nd alternator! This issue is easy street! ?
