It all depends on your personal use I suppose. I actually replaced my RSi SmartCap with the Softopper because I couldn't put my black dogs in the black steel cap more than half the year due to heat. The small vent windows didn't provide enough cooling. Now I roll the Softopper sides up in...
I can't answer your question about what a rigid bed cap does to your topless cab experience... but unless you need to have a rigid cap, I would suggest you consider a Softopper. It is both easy to fold down and to remove if you prefer. I have one and it is a high-quality product.
Thanks! I just read your thread... great info and thanks for sharing. I've run the Rubicon in a JKR... and was wishing for a shorter wheelbase. Now I'm going to do it in this beast, so it ought to be entertaining! Thanks again.
Which of you has run the Rubicon Trail in your Gladiator and what, if any, damage did you suffer? If no damage, what model, lift, tires and protection did you have? If you had damage of any kind, what would you change on your rig if you're going to run the trail again? My 2020 JTR has a 2"...
Have a look at the smaller Lance travel trailers. We tow a 1575 that's ~4000 lbs. With a weight distribution hitch, the JTR will pull it anywhere. Their trailers are very well made.
I am very interested in this product since, with the addition of an adaptive cruise control / safety systems camera on my windshield, what once was a ~$400 windshield replacement is now a ~$1400 replacement. How does this product work and how has it been tested and verified to work? Thanks!
I recently installed 4:88's with my KO2 37"s (closer to 36"). I am very happy with their performance with and without towing my 17" Lance trailer. I will suggest going with Dana replacements. I chose another brand and have found them to be much noisier than my original gears.
Someone may have already asked this later in this thread... but which Ripp coils did you use? On their website, they don't appear to produce them for the JL/JT 3.6L. Thanks.
What is the height of the highest point of the camper above your cab height? I've got a 2" lift and 37"s on my Rubicon and am curious if it would fit through my garage door. Thanks.
I installed the Mopar trailer towing control in place of the original 12 volt socket in my dash and now want to install a socket somewhere in the cab, ideally up around the dash where a new Design 67 JL/JT Series 55 rack will go. Has anyone already done this and, if so, what product(s) did you...
I tow a ~2800 lb. Lance 1675 travel trailer with a gas JTR on 37"s. Have not re-geared yet... but it doesn't seem to mind pulling it up steep mountain passes. I will say the weight distribution hitch negates the need for helper springs, airbags, etc. Truck stays nicely level and is stable. I...
