Wife just got back from an 8 hour drive back from PA with my son in the Gladiator. I asked her how the drive was and she responded that my truck drives like a dream. Just reinforces my complete disinterest in messing with suspension.
Welcome. What part of NC? If you're on Facebook, there is an NC Overland group. And someone also just started a softroader group too. I occasionally trips organized/promoted on the first one. I know I'd definitely be interested in an easy trip too to meet some people and enjoy nature.
I guess I'm just a Philistine then. I don't intend on doing a lift at any point with mine. Mine is a daily driver first and foremost. Not going to sacrifice my very pleasant on road manors and fuel economy for the 1-2% of the time I might need or want to have a lift. I'm gonna upgrade my tires...
With my stock Overland, I'm averaging somewhere between 20-22mpg between fill ups. Over the winter I was 18-20mpg because I don't like driving a cold vehicle. On roadtrips, unless on really mountainous routes, I'm usually getting around 24mpg. Last summer while towing a 5x8 uhaul trailer loaded...
This is why I'm probably going to be looking elsewhere for a topper. Haven't decided if I'll be doing an RTT yet when I do get a topper, but definitely some heavy kayaks at some point.
I have it and use it constantly on the highway. I've used the systems from Nissan and Toyota on their small cars and small SUVs. Granted both of those were older systems so they may be more refined now. Those were kind of clunky. The one in my Gladiator is smoother. My only complaint being...
Can you do light from inside the cab? Or maybe lights in the grill? Or do you need 360 degree view of the lights? Maybe a bar like the one linked.

I feel like I see a fairly good representation of trims around Winston-Salem. About the same when I was in PA last week. I'm honestly surprised to see as many Overland's as I do, but I guess the incentives help. I guess it's the same with the Saharas with the Wranglers because I see a ton of...
Get them, they are worth the extra cost. The blind spot has saved me once already from some asshole in a Charger weaving through traffic. I wasn't looking to get the Adaptive Cruise and emergency braking package, but it was on the only Gator Overland I could find for that had leather and the...
I have a 10% off discount code for a Garmin Overlander GPS unit if anyone wants it that I got when I got my Tread Lightly membership. I won't be using it, so I figured I'd offer it up to someone if they wanted to get one before the end of the year. The expiration date is the 31st of this month...
Good point about the Bronco vs the 4Runner.
I did seriously consider a 4Runner before my JT. I just could not get past how dated everything is with the 4Runner. You can't beat the reliability aspect of a Toyota vehicle, but I wanted a nice vehicle with some of the latest tech and the 4Runner...
I have this happen too, not consistently though. First dealership said they updated software and no change. Second dealership said they started up a Gladiator on the lot and got a similar clunk noise like I described and said it was normal operation. Not really helpful and I hope this doesn't...
The new Ford Maverick and the Hyundai Santa Cruz will definitely fall into the El Camino/Ranchero category, at least as they've been talked about. Guess we'll find out more whenever they come out.
That being said, people at these car makers are seeing a market there for more unibody trucks...
Was actually a little over a week ago, but I just found this thread. Definitely noticed a small change in handling while it was all back there, but nothing crazy.
