After reading this you made me go check mine. I've had it on for over a year now and no cracking. There are "creases" where it hinges in the first section since it is opened and closed more often but no cracking. Rubber still feels nice and soft and that is down here in the Texas heat.
Got the 37s installed and 4.88 gears go in next week.
Overland with Rubi shocks and springs.
RC 2-1/2" lift in the front.
Icon 1.375" spacer in the rear.

Had the exact same thing on a Jeep Commander. Driving down the road and it was like someone reached over and turned the key off. Did this at 3000 miles, they replaced the computer and then at 6000 miles or so exact same thing. They replaced the computer again and roughly 300 miles later a...
I ordered the Black Rhino Cinco wheels in 17x9.5 and received only 2 and the balance was "cancelled" on me. They are apparently on back order and can't find out how long that will be so I have went with a different wheel.
Now I have 2 brand new wheels that I would like to sell instead of...
I'm currently running the Falken AT3W's in 33" and was in Colorado during that big snow storm 2 weeks ago and yes, they handled great. Would stick with them but they are one of the heaviest 37s I've looked at.
Be assured that I didn't take it as anything but things to consider. If I didn't want to hear what everyone thought I damn sure wouldn't post anything on these boards!!!:CWL:
So I already stated I will be re-gearing, even if I decided on 35s I will re-gear, so the mileage concern and re-gear cost are a mute point in my situation. So we are down to sidewall flex on 17' wheels and reducing braking as the points being made.
Since we are talking about a total of...
Looking at several different brands and comparing weights between 35s and 37s in a 17" wheel the differences are averaging around 7lbs per tire. Wondering how much a difference on the breaking at total of 28lbs or so would have?
Yes, live in Houston so concern would be wet roads but I do spend a week in Colorado every year and this year having the Wildpeak were a huge help seeing how I was there in the recent storm.
Looking to move to 37s on Black Rhino Arsenal wheels and will be re-gearing. What is everyone running for their daily driver?
Overland with Rubicon shocks/springs and 3/4” spring spacers currently. Will I need to go higher as well?
I can appreciate that. Headed to Colorado in 2 weeks for a ski trip so I will get a chance to see how it does with those same type of roads. Town we stay in has crappy roads in the same condition you are talking about.
When you say edge of the fender where exactly do you mean? I'm right at 40.25" to the top of the plastic trim around the wheel well opening and I have Rubi shocks/springs and 3/4" spacer in front.
Did you regear when going to 37's? I've read on here, I'm sure some just opinions, that 35's are about the limit for the 3.73. I'm sure it depends on the weight of the wheels/tires and other additions like bumpers and winches. I like in Houston so pretty flat driving but do make a once a year...
Thanks for the info. That is exactly why I was asking. If I wouldn't get 2" over where it sits now I was thinking spacer lift and save some money. Will be replacing the 33" tires with 35"s as well. Now to figure out a light weight rim/tire combo.
I think I know the answer, but I have an Overland with Rubi shocks and springs which added about 1-1/2" of lift over stock Overland and am considering the Mopar 2" lift. My question is will it add 2" from the stock Overland height or the height it sits now with the Rubi take-offs? Don't want...
Sorry for the late response. I happy with the spacers for now as it is just a stop gap until I go to larger tires/rims and lift. I don't notice any difference in the way it drives and haven't notice much more spray from the tire then pre-spacers.
