Jeep has issued a technical bulletin to change out the steering gear (many call it the steering box). You have to complain and point that you would like it replaced (it is covered under warranty). Corrected a lot of the wandering on my 2020.
To clarify, I took it to the dealer ($50 to add the option) to avoid having to program it myself, when it didn't work (the switches didn't even show up on the radio when I left the dealership). I took it back again to the dealership and they said the option was there. They offered to debug it...
I got the and used the Jscan after the dealer added the option to my VIN. There are 4 settings to check. See my earlier post. I did find that the 5Amp fuse in the wiring harness did blow at some point. Once replace everything worked fine.
The screen said "unavailable". The button lit up but didn't activate the S/S function. Had nothing to due with the switches; it just died by coincidence. The dealer had to replace some part (sorry, can't recall what it was). It was under warranty.
Had mine repaired under warranty through the TSB today. Only 10 miles to get home but, I could noticeably feel the better handling in turns and the wandering was significantly reduced on the highway. Yeah!
I'm third on a list at my dealer, they are doing 1 per week so they can allocate parts to all the dealerships (supply chain) since there are so many complaints.
THE FINAL RESULT
Used the JScan and found that not all settings were not enabled. AS stated above: 1. was Active, 2. empty, now set to four switches, 3. empty, now set to four. The fourth setting in the Jscan App is under Radio settings to enable the AUX Switch screen (Dealer Bad).
Found that...
After the fact: I'm in $260 for the switch pod itself, $62 for the dealer to flash, $30 for security adapter to scan the computer unit myself, $15 for the JScan App, $30 for the VGate Reader. Hours of installation work, dealer trips, investigation on line = not working yet, (waiting for the...
Checked the vehicle after sitting another evening - no change in status.
Loaded the JScan App, now I see the 3 AUX settings others mention that need configured:
1. Aux Switch Module Present On/Off
2. Aux Switches in CSM On/Off
3. Aux Switch Settings On/Off
Ordered the vgate iCar Pro Bluetooth...
Took the side panel off and checked the Orange wiring, Did get rid of the single plug and connected the orange wires directly to each other and used shrink tap, ensuring a good connection, Rechecked the orange pin on the larger plug for tightness, it was secure. Connected two of my LED lights...
+48 hours, switches never illuminate when depressed. Checked continuity of fuses again (all good). Checked -ground and +power connections. I guess I will tear the panels off and check the Orange pins for connectivity again.
+2 hours later the AUX appeared under Settings on the radio screen. No illumination of the lights on switches when depress. Crossing my fingers that time will make it all better.
Finally, got into the dealer, and they programmed the LH2 sales code for the switch pod into the system. Cost was $62.50. The result is nothing, they are inoperable. Nothing new shows in the settings menu of the radio. Checked the fuses, a main and the 4 relay fuses - all good. :( Not real...
