@on_order I originally was interested in the OEM roll-up cover but just couldn't pull the trigger at $850+. I ended up getting the Extang Trifecta 2.0. Amazon has it for $415 and right now there is a $40 rebate after purchase...
@aj8544 was this Access Literider easy to install on your Gladiator? $300 vs $800+ for the Mopar version seems like a no brainer.
Looks like it has its own rail system that gets installed. Is that correct?
Thank you everyone for you input on this. I have an appointment next week to get the Line-X done. Doing the Premium which includes the UV protection. $595 +tax.
Per @LostWoods recommendation, I installed the two rivnuts in the rear of the bed for the rail system JIC. If anyone is looking at...
@MAustin Very impressive updates/upgrades. I want to do something (probably paint) the chrome bezel on the steering wheel as it creates a glare. I want to know what dummy thought it would be a great idea to put chrome where it could reflect into the drivers eyes. Duh!!
How did you get that...
Your joke was funny though. Gave me a chuckle this morning. I'd love to paint them but I am having difficulty figuring out how that trim piece would pop off with the leather wrapping on my steering wheel.
Do you have any link to this user? I tried searching but could not find it. I cannot seem to figure out how these would pop off with the leather wrapping.
@LostWoods addtional questions:
where do I get said rivnuts?
Do you know how many are needed?
And which holes do the rivnuts go in for the rail systems? I see a fair amount of non-threaded holes in the bed of the truck.
@LostWoods thank you so much for this. I had anticipated the threaded hole issue but hadn't come up with a solution yet. Can i just get a collection of bolts that fit into the threaded holes and put them in before the bedliner spray? Not sure what I need to do with a rivnut.
I now understand...
Eric: thanks for the reply. I have the leather wrapped wheel as well as the heated steering wheel so not sure I can just swap out another wheel (if I could figure out how to get one). Any idea if a non-chrome bezel is a purchasable part?
Just purchased a new Rubicon. Comes with chrome trim around the steering wheel. What dummy thought it would be a great idea to put chrome where the sun could shine into the driver's eyes?
Any suggestions on what can be done to eliminate this glare? Not only will it sometimes reflect right...
The knock I’ve been reading on the Line-X is that it’s “rough”. Do you find it rough and scratchy?
Rhino is supposed to be softer but the knock on them is that application can be hit or miss depending on the vendor.
@cbl1 I see you have a roll up tonneau cover too. I want one as well and assume I should get the bed lined first. Does the cover use the threaded holes I see in the back wall of the bed? If so, how did you protect those holes from being filled with the Line-X when getting the bed sprayed?
The package I bought was a bit different than the one I had negotiated with Dulles. From a percentage standpoint SC was just slightly more expensive. But it saved me a 9 hour and 500 mile drive.
