I'm an old phart, and drive like one! I use the cruise control ALL THE TIME - leaving our house, we are about 1 mile down a one-lane country road to the highway. Once on the highway it's at least 12 miles in any direction to a town, with the speed limit of 55, or 40, or 30 in places. If we need...
So, we just replaced the tires on my wife's 2022 JLU SS and my 2020 JT SS - stayed with the same stock size: 245/75R17; the only change is going from the OEM All-Season tires to the KO3 All-Terrain tires. We don't really feel any difference as far as ride or handling, but both vehicles have...
Had mine sprayed in by Line-X when we bought the truck - they removed those panels and sprayed them separately. They also covered all the various bolt holes to preserve their usefullness.
Case in point: we are the original owners of both our Gladiator and our Wrangler - Carfax showed us as the second owner on both because we moved from California to Tennessee and changed the registration and title to Tennessee.
I don't know where you are but I know for a fact that Columbia CDJR in Tennessee doesn't care where you bought your Jeep - we moved from California to Tennessee and had no problem getting warranty work done at the Columbia dealer.
We use the NSA Ready Brute Elite tow bar/brake system, connected to a Rugged Ridge Spartan bumper with Blue Ox adapters. Wiring is with a home made version of the CoolTech LLC harness.
Years ago, when we had a Ford F450, I had a dealer service guy tell me that they had a hierarchy of how service work was prioritized:
1. Warranty work for their customers
2. Non-warranty work for their customers
3. Non-warranty work for other customers
4. Warranty work for other customers
So...
Where are you in Tennessee? We moved to Middle TN (Lewisburg area) last year and have been sort of looking for a group that enjoys mostly forest roads and such rather than extreme rock climbing (we used to live in California and have never wanted to try the Rubicon!).
Once you get everything squared away you might want to check the CARFAX report for the vehicle. We bought our 2020 JT and our 2022 JLU when we lived in California. When we escaped from California and settled in Tennessee we registered our vehicles here - later we took the JLU in to the dealer...
Exactly! Back in 1999 we bought a Ford F450 Super Duty to haul our fifth wheel. We went with the F450 over the F350 because of the heavier frame, dirvetrain, larger brakes, etc. With a minimal utility body it tipped the scales at 8750 lbs before putting ANYTHING in the bed! The F350s at that...
We lived in San Jose and it seemed like my Gator Gladiator was the only one in town, and my wife's Hydro Blue JLU was a rarity also. Here in Middle Tennessee the closest dealer has probably around 30 Gladiators, and about 1/4 of them are the newer color that looks a lot like Gator. Hydro Blue...
My Gladiator was pretty rare when we lived in the SF Bay area of California; now we're living in Middle Tennessee and Gladiators are a dime a dozen here...
Haven't made contact with any groups yet - I have seen the Nashville Cars n' Coffee on Facebook and we might check it out sometime. Our son and his family are also interested in that: they have a 1953 Ford Customline Coupe and a 1968 Ford Mustang Coupe in their garage and would probably run the...
