  1. What ABS does for traction

Appreciate the discussion. With an auto - in 4H there are 2 separate modes. One where you can disable TC and the other you can long press and disable the ABS too. Anybody know what the impacts of these are and why throttle is still limited at least on mine? In 4L it seems there are different...
  2. What ABS does for traction

I'll try and clarify what I think. I think that traction control uses the ABS wheel speed sensors and braking to function. Could be wrong. I also haven't quite figured out the nuances of 4L vs 4H. 4H seems to limit throttle even if traction control and ABS are off. 4L seems to still do it when...
  3. What ABS does for traction

I've done some reading on all the nuances between traction control and ABS, what they do for us when things get slippery, and how to deactivate (or sort of deactivate) them across 4L/4H/etc. I go to the beach pretty regularly, even tow a 5K RV. Every trip traction is a non issue. 4H, traction...
  4. Anyone had a caliper dragging???

I had a caliper that wouldn't release. Thought it was pad hardware (no). Thought it was caliper (no, replaced and bled brakes). Front left. Taking it around the block made it catching fire hot. It was the internally failing flexible brake lines. System could force fluid into caliper but not...
  5. Find Gladiator

    Thanks team!
  6. Find Gladiator

I have a 2020 Sport-S with the 7 inch screen. Has Uconnect and sat radio and all that. I would really like to have an app to locate my truck somehow. I've tried the jeep app and it has nearly nothing in it but a user guide. I seem to be unable to figure this out without going 3rd party. Is there...
  7. Cape Lookout! A sweet retreat.

Truck to 18 psi and trailer to 20 (trailer is bias not sure I'd go below that.) 4H with traction control off. No issues even in the loose stuff it was unstoppable. I do run levelers and I think that helps to distribute the weight and my trailer is only a little over 3K dry. Still bring a buddy...
  8. Cape Lookout! A sweet retreat.

Seriously though, highly recommend 2 vehicles that are capable and all appropriate recovery stuff. You are on your own. There is nobody to save you and there is no hardball. And bring shade there is none and no place to get a relief from exposure.
  9. Cape Lookout! A sweet retreat.

I was there before you the week before with nearly the same setup. Stop telling people!!!!!
  10. Traction boards - worth hauling or forget about it?

It remains to be seen if I'm a genius or an idiot yet. I'll let you know.
  11. Underhood fuel transfer valve and pump

You're right. Jerry can will do er. Except i don't gotta bring one.
  12. Underhood fuel transfer valve and pump

I was entertaining splicing into the fuel line under the hood and adding a tee/valve/electric fuel pump and a "barb" to use as a fuel source for atvs. Probably run off aux switch. Anybody done this? Any lessons learned?
  13. Alignment story

Just to clarify, not a testimony for dealers versus trusted local shops. I've also aligned dozens of vehicles with a tape measure. Just didn't think I needed to do that in 2020-2023 with vehicles from the factory. Moreso just to state my surprise on the whole topic. And yep, i didnt get the...
  14. Alignment story

Just wanted to share my story. Former 4 door wrangler owner and moved to gladiator in 2000. They both drove similarly. I thought it was just a jeep thing. I have a sport-S max tow and drove the original set off tires off of it. Upgraded to 33's. Noticed abnormal wear patterns in the...
  15. Rear taillight bulb type

Just FYSA, it is NOT 3157 as the parts stores say it is.
  16. VOIDED Factory Warranty after taking it through mud

This hit the national news feed I got it yesterday on AP. That sure ought to do something. I bet fomoco loves this!
  17. Sport or Sport S

Interesting story. I put my max tow Sport S into the MyMopar site by VIN. It is stating 8105 max tow and 1555 payload. Kinda seems steep on the tow and light on the payload published numbers I'm reading everywhere.
  18. Front hitch receiver

I just put the Curt one on. Bolted right up. The airdam (after cutting hole) wasn't "completely" happy but I put the heat gun on it really mildly and formed it a little. I feel over time it will probably mold itself even more.
  19. Tekonsha Brake Control Wiring Harness

I guess I should have looked at the comments on youtube guy's video. He had one initial error that never reappeared and the brake worked perfect even manually applying. He did in fact have the diode inline. Also the polarity and the resistance one-way are correct per other threads.
