I must admit, I had extremely low expectations with all the talk here of people getting the run around. That said, I just received a check from Daystar for $800! It doesn't cover my entire invoice, but it does cover most of it. Hopefully this is a sign of things to come for the rest of you as well.
I had a local shop do the replacement for me. They charged 8 hours, which is slightly longer than they charged to do the initial install. The reason given was the time it took to clean out the housings before replacing the bushings. I called the number on the TSB and received a recording to send...
Any update on this? Also, do you know if they will only pay installers directly, or if they will reimburse if we had an installer do the replacement? I have mine scheduled for 5/17 and am trying to determine if I should postpone.
Though I havent called myself, Ive heard the same thing...$75. My installer quoted me around $900 as an estimate. Quite the difference....
On that note, for those that have done this yourselves already....do you need a press? Or can the joints be reassembled with just hand tools?
That is horrible news. Has anyone else done the replacement and had similar feedback? Before I spend $$$$ getting my shop to replace all the bushings, I want to make sure it will actually solve the issue.
Thanks for posting this, I wasnt aware of the TSB and do have some squeaking. Like others mentioned, called and spoke with Adam. Took less than 5 minutes from beginning to end, and the parts should be here in two weeks. RK customer service always impresses me every time I need to call.
Not sure where you are in Maryland, but Jones in Bel Air ordered the parts for mine after looking at it. They never even mentioned my mods (I also have the RK lift). May want to give them a call.
Hopefully RK will respond to this as well, but I ordered the 3" x-factor no limits lift May 26th. I was told the parts got back from powder-coat on June 25th and Im still waiting on their arrival. They are in NY, and the COVID restrictions have them (like everyone) pretty far behind. If you've...
Thanks for responding RK! Do you know of anyone with a JTR that is running this lift with Ridge Grappler 37x12.50x17's on wheels with 4.75 backspacing? Your picture looks like there would be plenty of room, but Id rather know for sure than order and regret it.
Ah, good point. I forgot about the Rubicon\MaxTow axels being wider. I guess I should update my original post and ask specifically about the JTR with this lift and 37x12.50x17 on 4.75" backspacing. I really like the wheels, but if I order with the tires mounted there are no returns. Id rather...
Holy crap, thats the exact backspacing they recommend and you are rubbing? Why does that rub for you, but the RK post with 38's and 4.54 BS still looks to have a few inches left in their picture? What am I missing?
Im sorry if this has already been asked. I tried to review the pages but didnt see this specifically. On page 2 someone asks about the backspacing recommendation for this lift. RK was nice enough to provide a photo of their shop truck with this lift, 38x13.50x20 tires and 4.54" BS wheels. It...
