I'm like 90% sure XM Guardian is cell based, it won't work off-grid and I don't think requires the satellite antenna for anything. So Garmin is still needed if you need/want off grid comm services, especially emergency/SAR services.
If they invested in a torque wrench instead of an impact gun to put it on, it wouldn't break. The torque spec is like just over hand tight, something like 15 or 20 ft-lb.
Hmm, I can't find it now, but I recall seeing my Jeep coming with a very odd, 6501 lb tow rating, the manual says 6000. I'd have to dig through the paperwork in my car to find that odd 6501 number.
That's horrible. I bought a Factor55 insert for the tow hitch, I have to imagine there are similar risks with that. Makes me think twice about using it with a kinetic rope.
Does about as well as I'd expect an overpriced mall crawler would do.
The wheels are too big, the tires have too much air, they're giving it too much gas to helping it dig in more. I've always used 4H on sand and had much better results.
I wish they made oversized spares that collapse down like those fancy german spare tires. I wouldn't need a full blown M/T spare, but running with no spare at all seems like asking for trouble.
Can confirm, heat pumps are picky. I had 2 installed last year, I had to have 36" on 2 sides and 12" on the 2 other sides. The units could not be closer than 36" to each other. If you don't meet those, the manufacturer won't warranty the units.
Can also confirm HOAs are horrible and don't care...
Just fill up before you go on the beach. Even if you're getting a mere 10MPG, you've got 200+ miles of range in the tank. If you're really worried, throw a 5 gallon portable in the bed before you head out. Be sure to check the rules, portable tanks may not be allowed on the beach, fines can be...
I've seen a lockable replacement for the under seat storage, but I haven't gotten one yet. Not sure where I saw it though...perhaps somebody else can chime in for both of us.
I keep the mopar rain cover on it, keep the center console and glove box locked. Only visible things are my dash cam, some ducks, and a first aid kit in the back. I just cross my fingers nobody lifts the rear seats.
I part in well light, public areas, never anywhere but my driveway or a...
This is interesting, based on what you've said, you're getting positive confirmation on the instrument cluster that you're in 4L but when you press the gas the engine revs and you don't move.
I just spent the weekend on the beach at NJ Jeep Invasion and used 4L. First, I was able to shift...
We’re running pretty late ourselves. Won’t be there until 9. I think we’re just going to go straight to the beach. I’ll be the blue Mojave with tube doors and an orange sun shade.
