It’s not so much about starting the truck when it’s dead it’s more about being in stop and go traffic or otherwise and if you accidentally stall it in stop and go traffic, I would just be able to roll start instead of having to completely stop the truck and cycle through the accessory and run...
That makes sense, I was getting so frustrated that I pulled the fuse on the accessory battery. So I should reconnect the accessory battery and then I’ll be able to roll start?
Nope. It’s an entire pain in the ASS.
I had an issue with the accessory battery and was at work in the parking lot. I was parked in the perfect place where I could just roll my truck down one of the ramps to the next level and pop tje clutch… technically it is possible however, it really...
That’s the issue. You HAVE to come to a
Complete stop. Press the brake.
normally with a key you can keep rolling and restart without pressing the brake and the “push start” from accessory to “run”. Got me?
People who have been driving manuals for a long time appreciate the fact that you can just be rolling along and start the truck and not have to come to a complete stop and press the damn start button two or three times to get moving. It is extremely inconvenient in some situations And most of us...
Thank you, people who know how to really drive a manual transmission. With key start, I love the fact that I can be rolling and just press the clutch and go right to start and it’s just starts on its own not having to come to a complete stop and press the button two or three times to get it...

I own a 2020 Gladiator and it’s a manual transmission. This is the third manual Jeep I’ve owned in the past 25 years. I cannot STAND the push start. It’s inconvenient, annoying, and makes NO sense to have in a manual.
I have been wanting to convert this since the day I bought it. I had my truck...
I just can’t see Jeep putting out crap clutches. They’ve been in the business longer than most. I’m hoping their just riding it too hard. I understand the safety issues that are coming up but damn. That’s REALLY HOT for normal driving conditions.
I’m wondering if these clutch’s are failing under NORMAL driving conditions or if they are either
1) inexperienced MT drivers (or)
2) towing or hauling heavy loads and over working their MT (?)
UGHHHH this year has been crap! I’m a nurse whose worked through the disaster and preparing for the second wave. I was depending on this truck. Sad. This year is just a total letdown.
Manual driving is such a great experience for me, I’ll hang in there. I know I’ll regret an automatic. So will my wallet when it’s time for brakes and trans issues!
thank you! I’m not trying to rush a good thing, just curious of a time line. I’m a loyal Jeep owner and I’m way too excited for my new one! This info
Is extremely appreciated!
I heard there was a recall, so I inquired to the dealer about it and, of course, he “hadn’t heard of a recall”. So two months pass and I knew you guys would know. Thank you. I’m so bummed. I won’t drive an automatic. I don’t care about the towing. I want a 5 speed. So I guess I’ll be waiting...
