The step is removeable and leaves the rock rail behind for protection. It comes off with 6 bolts per side. Someone suggested replacing the bolts with Torx head to help deter theft.
Saw a nice looking Bronco Raptor with an interesting step attached to it's rock rails. Sure, there is the kind of discreet Raptor label cast into the step, but what was interesting is that it appeared to be bolted onto the rock rails with large tech screws. They were metal with a heavy ripple...
Just following up on this thread where I've been pissing and moaning about the dealerships' response to my wandering steering.
After 2 bad experiences with Jeep Cares agents, I tried again and got a great one. Leann is a good communicator and stayed on top of the situation. She did regular...
Exactly! So, I never got a return call from the 1st case manager after leaving about 6 messages all week. Accepted the offer for the next available case manager who seemed impatient with my complaint - basically said something like, "Well it looks like you wanted the TSB, they wouldn't do it so...
Thanks for the sympathy! Just got off the phone with a most aggravating Jeep Cares agent. Summarize my experience to "You wanted a TSB, dealership wouldn't do it and you took your vehicle back". He couldn't understand the wording of the TSB - like the tech. Going to try another dealer.
Just a little follow up about the 2nd Jeep Dealership that I dropped my truck off with. Stopped by on Monday to discuss the tsb. Had to make an appt for the next day, so dropped it off on Tuesday at 8am. Service writer said it would depend on how fast he could get the parts - said it could be...
Made an appt with the dealer in Ontario, CA last Monday. Supposed to be at 8 am a week later for the Steering TSB and an oil change. Service writer on the phone said they would have the parts ready by then and that I could wait for it. Just called and got the guy who would be signing me in and...
Okay, everyone has some good ideas to quiet the JT, but you are probably going to need to think about getting hearing aids. I recently discovered that I had sudden severe hearing loss in my right ear as well. I have only 10% comprehension in that ear. I'm finally getting dialed in with my...
You just might be able to roll that X4 forward another 8 or 10 inches more - I'm not sure.
When you order the feet that fit in the tee slot, they come with the short legs, but the longer legs need to be ordered separately - so I never got to test them.
After I saw how far forward I was able...
Agreed! A friend gave me his old crossbars so I only had to pay for the short legs with mounts.
One of my favorite options was the Xplor mid size rack, but the way that it mounted (very securely btw), there's no way that I could have made it work with the X4. So many mods, so little time!
Try looking up or asking about this part number - KRRT004T
Looks like a short leg version of the rack for the Raptor. 6 legs though, which Front Runner requires on this unit for their warranty coverage.
Would you happen to have the part numbers used? I really like this option, but I think I would like to go with the tray option rather than the crossbars to take advantage of the numerous accessory options.
I love the look of the rack, but my roof top tent is the same size as my bed, so putting...
I got the Front RUNNER phone number front their website. I worked with a rep from FrontRunner named Farinn. She was patient and helped me put together just what I needed. I don't think that you can just order the crossbars with the tee slot mounts from the website.
First, picked and installed the Revolver X4 rolling hardtop from Bak. Then, found some FrontRunner short legs with Tee slot mounts to use with my crossbars and the built in Tee slots on the X4. I've been trying for months to find a way of hauling my roof top tent and still have some useable...
Bottom line, these FrontRunner crossbars with the short legs and Tee Slot mounting feet work "Perfectly" with my Bak Revolver X4 hard rolling tonneau. Okay, nothing is perfect - the X4 doesn't open all of the way, but it works as well as I was hoping.
I liked the look of the FrontRunner rack...
I have been in touch with FARINN at FrontRunner. They will not sell you individual parts as they don't want to be held liable for all of the rack designs that we can think of. I had to send a picture of my tonneau and the crossbars and then they were able to give me a quote for the parts that...
Just got done doing a test fit with my buddy's front runner uprights and cross bars. My X4 clears the rear crossbar set up easy peasy and then rolls all the way to the front set up.
Unless I end up making up an adapter which either moves the upright base outward by about an inch on each side...
