  1. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

After more negotiations, I ended up getting $6k more than I paid (to include the fees, taxes, title) for my GMC and the Jeep Rubicon for $3k under the actual MSRP (not the “market price,” etc) with free delivery to my house on Saturday. It would have been a 3.5 hr drive each way plus time at the...
  2. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Definitely appreciate your points re leasing. Only during this Covid phenomenon would I trade like this, because I’m making money (in KY and IL, we do get full tax credit when trading at the dealership). Otherwise, and overall, I’m in the buy camp over leasing unless the payment can be written...
  3. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Good price; has several conditional reductions though. I’m not being required to meet any conditions (financing, first responder) to get the 2021 Rubicon with the tan leather and loaded with almost every package, but the aux switches for $3k under the MSRP on the sticker.

  5. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

I’m not sure what the original MSRP of the used Mojave would be. With no leather or cold weather packages (it does have the safety assist and adaptive cruise package), I think you’re right, it couldn’t have had an MSRP of above $56k. The new Rubicon has an actual MSRP of $63,700. It’s a better...
  6. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Thanks everyone for the helpful input. The CDJR dealer is about 3.5 hrs away. I had another matching offer of $71.5 for my GMC AT4 HD from a local GMC dealer on a used 2021 Gladiator Mojave in Sarge Green with 5,800 miles. It has cloth seats and no cold weather package with the truck bed showing...
  7. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Definitely an unusual car market the last two years. In any other market, trading that often is a really poor financial decision.
  8. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

My limited past experience is the clerk gives you a refund OR offers to apply it as a credit to the next tax due bill.
  9. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Exactly. In Illinois (and I’ve double checked this), you get the full tax benefit if you trade a truck for a truck. So, I’d be on the plus side with this trade because I’d be going through I dealer.
  10. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Agreed. The ultimate decision is and will be mine. On such a big purchase, I do like input from knowledgeable people who have experience with the subject matter. It aids me in being sure I’m seeing clearly in both the short and long run. Greatly appreciated!
  11. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Thanks for the solid input, Fouts. If I had the Duramax and Allison combo, I’d be less swayed by this deal (then again, I’d likely be offered in the $80k’s for my truck if it were a 2022 AT4 HD Diesel). My gas V8 gets about 14 mpg combined and less in town. I do agree with you on every other pt...
  12. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Really good and appreciated points, thank you. In researching dealer asking prices for the few used 2022 GMC HD (gas) AT4’s like mine available, I’ve seen anywhere from $74,500-$78,900. Considering the MSRP was $68,780 (and I paid a few thousand below that), I can’t fathom why anyone would pay...
  13. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Solid pt re the depreciation year. One of the main questions I’m answering is: “Are you committed to keeping the Gladiator for at least three years?” If not, I think the pendulum swings back to keeping the 2022 GMC. Both are really good trucks for different reasons. If I could find a diesel...
  14. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Thanks so much for your helpful input WKyfire (are you in W KY? I’m from there too, if so). The GMC HD AT4 is really nice, but I don’t have to have it (or the Gladiator either for that matter). I don’t tow much at all and the likelihood of going off road per lake trails and using the 5’ bed far...
  15. Trading my 2022 GMC HD (gas) for a new 2021 Gladiator Rubicon

Greetings Everyone: I’m looking for some thoughtful impressions per an offer on the table I have from an area Jeep dealer. They have a 2021 Gladiator Rubicon in stingray with the tan interior, cold weather package, safety package, front camera, body colored hard top and fenders on their lot...
