After purchasing 34" KO2s, I discovered all of the advice on the forums to "go bigger than you're thinking" was correct.
The 34s (top) measured 32", were simply too small under a 2.5" lift, and have since been replaced with 35" Wildpeaks (bottom). Yes, you were right.
Fortunately the 34s were...
Thanks for your critique and advice.
Of course I don’t need to bring the cap, tent, fridge, bumper, winch, dog, family and car seats. But that would defeat the purpose. Glad you were able to make it work and provide your opinion.
Cool - thanks. Those bags sounds like a good idea, especially for the price.
I have a 2.5" lift and a huge payload issue ....
Is your ride lifted or stock ... or does it even matter? Thanks.
Agree with above: the drawers are very high quality and offer a great solution for storage, protection, organization and some limited security of your gear.
Also agree you potentially lose lots of storage volume, especially if you are moving bulk items (or anything that doesn't fit nicely in...
Not quite a 'regret' but the decked drawers are apparently 200 lbs (empty). By the time I add in my family, winch, the cap and some basic gear I'm already over the 1100 lbs payload capacity.
If you decide to plug into your battery, they'll suggest you use this (not sure if much different than the one I used):

Looks great and I hope it works well for you! I did something similar with a fridge slide on top of the decked drawers - needed to drill through the t-rails to find the metal tubes. Very solid ... and the access and organization is wonderful.
Well done.
Happy to share it all ... but I'm no professional - so don't take my advice too quickly! :-)
Simply put, you'll need to figure out three things (i.e., how to route the three thing that plug in atop the mirror unit):
1) Power. I used the usb kit (linked below) thru an Aux wire (under the...
Super simple. Forgive the ridiculous picture which aims to show which pieces of plastic and carpet I used to hide the cable. Started where the phone is and snaked it through. Took about five minutes.
This is helpful - thank you.
Just now realizing my "34" BFG KO2s are only 32" tall (about the same as the stock overland tires). Planning to put these 34s on a new Wrangler so I can get actual 35s for the lifted Gladiator.
Will need this JScan app. Thanks again.
