I managed to get bpth mine on the rear springs without taking the springs out. With alittle Windex (so it'll slide on the spring) ,some finesse and a skinned knuckle or two It worked out.
The metal cloak ones are split down the middle so they just kinda fit over the spring
Just to chime in, I was having the same issue with my rear 2.5" clayton springs. Metalcloak actually sells coil sleeves for the JT that fit the clayton springs. They eliminated a large majority of the rear noise and im very happy to fix that noise for about $50.
I originally ordered the arcus specific skid plate BUT the bumper showed up and the skid plate was still on eternal backorder....go figure! so i cancelled the skid plate and ordered the Quadratec aluminum modular front sway skid plate
yeah it was definitely a punch in the gut, but being the first big expensive "aw Sh*t" moment ive had in my 10 years working on cars, I just sucked it up,had it fixed right(at the dealer with Jeep/MOPAR parts in case something breaks later they cant blame it on me) and then hoped this is like a...
I managed to break my body bolt with with HAND TOOLS, using a standard long handled wrench. I am by no means a big dude, so it was comprised in some way before i got to it.
with a torque wrench you may not have scratched up the heads like i did so it may not be as obvious you messed with them...
Mine was the rear driver side and the cost was $1,500 if I remember correctly. My wallet is still very sensitive about this subject. They had to remove my truck bed. If it's in the front it may be much easier?
If you broke one of yours, you have two things that might save you if you haven't...
Unfortunately my dealer is apparently a butthead and not a real jeep friendly dealer. When they discovered my skid plates had some scratches and dirt they called me and were like " you obviously taken this offroad and jeep won't cover the bolts now" didn't want to call them incompetent and say...
Im a new Jeep convert! Previous sports car guy here,
Dodge Charger V6 to Dodge Challenger RT 5.7L HEMI Manual to Dodge Challenger Widebody Scatpack 6.4L HEMI Manual- Jeep Gladiator
Contrary to the demonic price point they are very nice sliders! The ONLY hellish part of the install is removing those stupid stupid body mount bolts(i broke one last weekend when i put my Ace's on). Other than that the sliders go on super easy and are very well built., although a second set of...
totally managed to bust my driver's side rear bolt this past weekend :( didnt see the advice of heating up the bolts first, the other 5 were easy..enough.
Im a newbie here but i recently just did this on my overland. Besides getting the cooler looking fox shocks, it looks like it actually raised the truck up some(not more than 1" or so) which actually makes the shocks more visible. The ride quality is definitely improved(at least according to me...
the email option is definitely not the way to go, i sent them an email and no reply even after 2 weeks. eventually i got through on the chat option. chat or calling is probably the best way since it’s instant.
