I have the ARB single mounted in the engine bay. As long as the under hood temps are reasonable, it works fine. Airs up my 35” tires quick enough for my needs. It’s been bulletproof thus far.
FWiW, I tried mounting some SS3 pods on the cowl but ended up relocating them because of the wind noise at highway speeds (as little as 55 mph). Mounted them to my bumper instead. I’ve found that anything mounted externally near the windshield is asking for a louder in-cab experience.
The front shocks are not adjustable. I put adjustable ones in the rear to compensate for various loads. TBH, I haven't messed with the adjustability much. I could have saved the money and used the non-adjustable ones, but with the weight of the vehicle and variable payload and towing loads, I...
My ‘21 Rubicon was the same. Sitting empty in the driveway, it’s just below GVWR. Got much worse once you put any weight in the back. All of the above recommendations help. In order of impact, here’s what worked best for me:
