  1. Registering Manu. trailer as Homemade

Bought a Rance 2007 aluminum car trailer, used. Have the title from the previous owner. In RI, if you buy a vehicle out of state, you need to bring to the police dept to get the VIN verified. Brought it by the police station, but the tag is in such bad shape you can't make out the whole VIN...
  2. Fuel economy dropping

2021 JT with 55,000 miles. Added a 1.5" front leveling kit at 30,000 miles along with Falken Wildpeak 35's at the same time. Used my JScan to adjust the tire size. For quite a while was seeing 16-16.4 mpg average weekly. Combination of highway and city driving. Noticed the past couple of...
  3. Trailer winter storage

Going to leave my, new to me, car trailer in a grass lot next to my office. Should I put car jacks under the trailer to keep the wheels out of the grass all winter or maybe put a 2x8 under the tires so they aren't in contact with the ground. Not sure if the tires in the grass all winter would...
  4. Creaking wheels

Was getting some creaking when pulling out of the driveway and when I would park. Thought it might be the brakes, had 50K miles on the original pads. Replaced the pads this past weekend. Only looked about half worn. Or the pad was half the size of the new pad (maybe that's more than half?)...
  5. Greasing axle bearings

Finally bought a car trailer. Found a used aluminum at a good price. Never had a trailer before so everything is new. I was looking at the axle bearings, there is a lot of grease around them. Wiped some of it off and saw they are Dexter E-Z lube. Went to the Dexter site and found the...
  6. Selecting a car trailer

Any difference between a car trailer with a steel bed vs one with wood? Looking at used trailer to tow a car and have seen full steel beds, some with steel rails on each side (where tires would go) and open in the middle and ones with full wood beds. Not sure if there is any difference...
  7. Brakes grinding

When I first start the Jeep and let off the brake, either one or both of the rear wheels/brakes is making a grinding or crunching noise. Happens in reverse and forward and only happens when going really slow. Like a mile or two. Soon as I speed up and apply the brakes no noise. Jeep has...
  8. Drag link fully adjusted & steering wheel still crooked.

Dropped my JT off at the shop. Was having some clunking in the front end and couldn't figure out where it was coming from. Said the track bar was loose, tie rod knuckles were worn and a couple other bolts were loose. Also needed alignment. Picked it up this morning. Said they got the...
  9. Tire pressure gauge

Can someone recommend a good tire pressure gauge. I have 2-3 cheap ones I picked up at Auto Zone. All three have different pressures when I check the same tire. And they are all different than what the TPMS is reading, so I don't know which one is correct.
  10. Can I install my lift in stages

Installing a Clayton 1.5" leveling kit. Upper control arms, new front springs, new adj sway bar links, and track bar. Looking to get 2" out of it so may have to add a 1/2" or 3/4" spacer in the front. Going to add a 1" spacer in the rear to take out some rake. Also have new Fox 2.0 1-1.5"...
  11. Can shocks be too long

Thinking of adding a Clayton 1.5" leveling kit to the front and a 1" spacer to the rear. If I bought 4 Fox 2.0 2-3" lift shocks, would I have any issues in the rear since I'm only installing a 1" spacer?
  12. Mopar lift on Rubicon

Currently have a 1" spacer on the front to level out the rake. Just added 35's and at first was thinking of adding another 1" spacer up front and a 1" in the rear to get a bit more clearance. Then I'd need shock extension brackets in the front and a control arm relocation bracket or adjustable...
  13. Adding hitch to Rubicon

I have a 2021 Rubicon. Want to get a hitch to be able to tow. Looked under the truck and I have this bar with no hitch installed. It's a 68368181AA, which is the bottom assembly in the pic below. Can I just order the hitch portion? Doesn't seem like it would be strong enough If I just...
  14. New 35's, Jeep pulling to the left

Just went to 35's from 33's. Rubicon. Have 2 issues, which I might have had previously but if so, it's more pronounced now. 1. On anything other than a perfectly flat road, the truck pulls to the left slightly. With the 33's I feel like it did that on roads with a decent crown to them but...
  15. How are you finding Walmart Tire deals?

Do they send you alerts? Are you just randomly searching the website periodically and stumble across them. Just curious. Every so often I'll hop on and see what's on sale. I found you need to be pretty specific in what you are asking for. On the Mastercraft thread the other day, if you...
  16. Tire swap

Going up to 35's soon. Have 32,000 on my stock Falken Wildpeaks now. 9/32 still left on all tires. My daughter's JLU needs new tires. Was thinking of putting the Falkens on her JL and pulling my spare (0 miles)and swap with her spare. Other thought was to use my spare as a new rear tire...
  17. Kenda Klever 35's

How is everyone liking the Kenda Klever A/T2 315/70/17. Found them on Walmart for $223.48. I know it's not the $80 deal some of you got (still kicking myself for not jumping on that) but it's about $100-150 less than the other 315 tires I'm seeing. Running the stock Falken Wildpeak C load. I...
  18. XR wheels

Looking for a price on the XR wheels in Gray. Believe the part number is 4755628AA with trim ring 4755635AA. Thanks.
  19. Soft top question

Just bought a used soft top. With the top down and rear window out, should I also pull the corners off. Not sure with the wind blowing through if they would pop out or not. Doors are on for now but assuming when the doors are off there will be even more force on them.
  20. Water in the cabin question

As soon as you go above the door sills, does water start coming into the cabin or do the door seals prevent water from entering for a short time. Some private land nearby that offers off-roading. They have some water crossings. Saw a short video clip of this past weekend. Guy was in water...
