  1. another windshield bites the dust

I have ACC on mine, and just replaced the windshield with the 3rd party glass since it was half the cost of the OEM version. I never use ACC or forward collision detection, so I just covered the camera with the little plastic cover and put the windshield over that. No need for camera...
  2. Gorilla Glass

True, and I might have changed my mind if I knew how much more expensive the windshields were before I bought it. But, I do like the blind spot monitoring and cross path detection. I've just never used cruise control in the year I've had it, and turned off the forward collision...
  3. Gorilla Glass

I just had my windshield replaced yesterday. I have the camera on mine, but was able to use the cheaper 3rd party glass since I never use it and keep the forward collision warning turned off. I cut the handle off of the plastic cover for the camera and used that to cover up the camera before the...
  4. Is my brother making the wrong move?

I have a 1, 3, and 10 year old. I specifically bought narrow car seats, but they all fit in the back fairly well. My wife got a JL after we had the JT for a few months, and she considered a 4runner instead. The biggest question for us, and what ultimately made up her mind to get a jeep, was any...
  5. Reprogram after windshield replacement

Not necessary, because the camera stays where it is when you fold the windshield down. If you had to reprogram it because of a replacement then you'd have to do it every time you folded your windshield down also. I think there's an official jeep memo about it somewhere, but I can't remember...
  6. Leveling Kit, Looking for Opinions

I feel I'm in the minority here, but I'm not a big fan of the leveled look, and would prefer to do an even lift across both front and back. I think the JT was designed with a forward rake and to me it looks strange without it. My question is, are there benefits to leveling VS lifting, or is it...
  7. What’s the big deal with the Bestop Sunrider?

I've had my JT for 6 months now, and the Sunrider has been first on my want list of mods. Finally got it over break and installed it last week and couldn't be happier. Here in Texas the weather could go from 20 in the morning to 60 in the afternoon, so I love being able to open/close at will...
  8. Winshield Replacement Question

What is your insurance carrier? It may be worth switching for the windshield coverage since I have a jt and my wife has a jl.
  9. Winshield Replacement Question

I got my first star, and it spread pretty quickly. Now I'm looking at getting it replaced, but am getting quoted $600 because I have the safety package with ACC and FCD. I know there's a little section of defrost wires over that camera, and the extra black paint around the ACC box, but since I...
  10. My wife took the Gladiator to pick up our daughter from Grandma’s house...

Careful, I only had mine for about 2 months when my wife drove it with the doors off, and then said she wanted a Wrangler. 3 months later, we're a two jeep family fighting over garage space to take the top/doors off.
  11. Gladiator, Backup Camera, and 7 inch screen

I'd be interested to find out the answer also. Not for me but my wife has a JL with the 7 inch screen, and her camera doesn't fill the screen. There may be a setting I don't know about.
  12. New member as of 10-14-20.

Welcome, I'm just east of Dallas myself. Look up North Texas Jeep Club on Facebook, there's a big community available as well as smaller regional groups. There's also good recommendations for local reputable shops to get work done.
  13. I Took a test drive, and have some questions

Differences in posture and preferred seating position can drastically change results, but I'm 6'6, and haven't had any issues whatsoever in my Gladiator. My wife has a new JL, and I don't have any issues driving hers either, and haven't noticed any obvious differences between the two aside from...
