Bingo!
Thanks for the comment, as that is exactly what it was and it washed right off. Thinking about it a bit more, the fenders are plastic, not fiberglass, so they are basically made from the same material that the tank is made of.
When I filled it, I smelled an odor that I had not noticed...
I bought two boxes of Blue DEF at Costco last night, and put one of them in my Gladiator. The spout leaked a couple of drops onto my fender.
This morning, I see that my fender is melted down to the fiberglass where the two drips were.
Has anyone else had this happen? I am going to call Peak...
I just fixed my third brake light, either permanently or temporarily, time will tell. In any case, my LED strip was perfectly fine when I powered it on the work bench, even when tapping / wacking it, so I focused on the wiring.
Testing the voltage at the connector, it was fine. But, when...
Itās really only been five weeks, but I have been happy with the combination of the Clayton leveling kit in the front, and the 3/4ā spacers and air bags in the rear. I have left the air bags at 10 psi which adds a little bit of firmness in the rear. If I didnāt have the air bags, the 3/4ā...
After leveling kit, the front end is just stiff enough that I donāt bottom out any more. However, the ride is not harsh.
I waited to install the leveling kit until after the dealer installed the TSB. I wanted to get the stiffer shocks and I assumed that they would not agree to do the TSB for...
I am looking at these, which are actually an inch narrower than the stock tires:
https://m.tirerack.com/tires/tires.jsp?tireMake=Mickey+Thompson&tireModel=Baja+Boss+A/T&partnum=585QR7BBAT
I like the tall skinny look, and the narrower width also helps minimize the weight and wind load of the...
Thanks - Iām looking at going up to 35-inch MT Baja A/Tās, in a narrow width in order to keep the factory wheels and keep the tire weight down. I donāt want to go so large that it triggers a gearing change. It seems to me that the torque of the diesel could handle the 35ās with the stock...
I got my Clayton 1-1/2ā leveling kit installed yesterday, and have some measurements to share.
Vehicle:
ā21 JT Rubicon ecoDiesel with factory steel bumper and HF winch.
Suspension modifications:
Dealer-installed TSB, stiffer shocks (x4) and softer front bump-stops.
Rear: 3/4ā pucks (Amazon)...
One topic that seems to be missed is the important role that oil plays as a coolant. At least in high performance engines, the oil carries more heat out of the engine than the real ācoolantā.
Especially for turbo engines, the prevailing advice has always been to never shut down a hot engine...
Ordered the Clayton 1-1/2ā leveling kit for the eco-diesel, plus a pair of Air Lift airbags for the rear, to prevent a squatty tail when carrying a load.
Thanks- I was wondering about that. I took pictures that show the center, where the bump stops contact the bottom pad, is shiny / clean, while the rest of the pad is all dirty- pretty good proof that itās making contact on a regular basis.
My Rubicon ecoDiesel is also swapped from the first vote option, and bottoms out very easily:
RF - 6377AA / LF - 6378AA
I have an appointment scheduled with the dealer on 9/7/22. Iām assuming, if I bring the TSB, it may help get them on board with the āfixā.
Right-Front:
Has anyone tried to fit the Invisa Rack and a roll-up tonneau?
I wonder about the size of the rack, since the sites that do list the Gladiator are showing the same part number as the rack sold for the 5-1/2 foot bed Ram. Seems a bit long to me...
For the LowPro Truxedo, I find some sites...
I ordered on 9/29 and received the window sticker yesterday (10/26). Last night, Customer Service says it's "in shipping", but no ETA. Being in Portland Oregon, I don't know what a typical shipping period would be, but this is certainly quicker than I expected.
