I just noticed bubbling on the passenger side of my hood this week, looking more the hinges have bubbles and the clear coat on the hinges and on the hood around them has pealed.
I washed the truck about 3-4 weeks ago and did not see any of this.
Further inspections I find beginning of bubbling...
Yea, had considered some of those rail types, but dont think they are stout enough for a 500-600 lb motorcycle.
I figure it needs to be 1000 to 1200 lb working load in case of an Awww Shit event.
Do you know what that is rated for?
FWIW I use aftermarket hard top thumb screws to hold my soft top on.
I have had them on since shortly after buying mine in 2021 with no signs of failures.
Now I do find them a bit loose from time to time and snug them up when I do.
I also say I need to throw a little Loctite on them, but have...
Has anyone found a rack or some stout added tiedown points that works well on our trucks and fits under a tonneau cover?
I don't need the chock features like this one, but would like to have the high center and high outboard tiedown points.
I added a sunrider to my wife's JL that I often removed the hard top/doors.
The ability to quickly open it is very nice and my wife uses it all the time where she never removed the freedom panels herself.
Its a really tough call.
Please note I typically do the removals myself, so if you have 2...
Unless something has changed since 2021, my truck without the factory tow package came with all the wiring including the 7 pin connector.
All I would have had to do it cut the bumper cover and slapped a ball on.
I chose to add a hitch, but that is all I had to do.
Nope nothing has changed...
They did not do anything about my faded paint, but they did replace my bumper cover and wiper cowling under warranty. The new ones are beginning to fade again.
I suppose most of you tow your trailers..... I just have to be different sometimes.
Guy I bought it from thought I was nuts when I said I was going to throw it in the back for the trip home.
Might get an award for longest thing hauled with the Gladiator, it is about 16' long
Life got in the way and we did not get out camping this winter (our more typical season).
Finally got the opportunity this past weekend for my wife & my Anniversary.
We had got this Coleman stove as a wedding gift 28 years ago......still using it.
I do my JL 2 door the exact same way, even with the rope loops at the front.
A lift would be nice, but this was cheap and works well with my low garage height and other stuff in the way.
I dont see height of the bed side and/or volume as meaning that much.
Its mostly bed length and distance between wheel wells.
In fact too tall of bed sides is a detriment to me.
FWIW you don't need to have the engine running, I actually think its better to not do it that way.
Backing down I use the clutch on a non-running engine in 1st gear to act like a "dead man" rear hand brake.
Should shit go sideways and you let go the lever, the bike is NOT rolling back/moving.
I...
Yup, I was REALLY surprised when I grounded out my extra long hitch (for tailgate down towing) one time.
When I needed a bed extender for my Kayaks I went with a curved design so I would not ground it out so easily.
I have a JL with the hard top and Sunrider.
My JT is the soft top.
They are pretty close in wind noise, with the sunrider actually having a bit more wind noise.
I honestly believe the hump that the gladiator soft top has helps for less wind noise.
I suspect there is a very good reason why the...
Yea, on the 21's I think we just need the updated header seal with the flap/tab that fits up under the gutter.
Mine as it currently is pours out over the diverters into the truck on mostly level ground.
Yup, My 2021 does not have this latest seal at the windshield header (or its installed wrong) and the water pours in vs being channeled into the Diverters by the seal flap..
I have been to my dealer a few times trying to get it replaced/fixed and they keep telling me mine is fine and the TSB...
