another interesting observation. When I fade to the front through the head unit, no sound comes out. If I fade/balance to the rear, rear works fine. If I keep fade and balance center, audio in the front (and rear) is fine.

Quick update. PAC recommended that i replace the amppro and that it might be defective. Did that today and same result. so its either source or the amp.

I'll search around to see what I can find around here. I spoke to PAC and they think it might be a bad unit. I've ordered another to test with but won't be here for a week or so. Unfortunately I don't have another amp. I'll see if I can find something local to test with.

so this is interesting. I did the headphone to RCA input in to channels 1 and 2 and got no output from the speakers. I tried in the sub input and got sound. Any thoughts why I wouldn't hear a single thing out of the other two channels?

Reinstalled the ground to a factory ground. Problem still exists. Grr

Thats my understanding. Don't quote me, I could be wrong - but that's the whole reason that the amppro is needed. Canbus/uconnect doesn't provide a flat usable signal.

Correct - Driving all factory speakers (minus factory sub) and aftermarket subs with the amp. Amppro converts canbus to a clean usable preamp out signal; 5 channels. Sub channel non-fading, and front and rear.

Yes correct. PAC T-Harness with speaker line in harness. T-harness to the amppro with RCA out. RCA's to the 5-channel amp. Speaker out from the amp to the speaker line-in harness in the t-harness. Sub out from the amp directly to the aftermarket subs.

Good thought on the speakers. It's definitely coming from all the speakers (don't think from the subs). Thank you, I'll check out your suggestions and I'll check out the ground too. Where is everyone grounding successfully? Perhaps I'll start there.

I'm running all factory speakers and the subs. PAC Amppro AP4-CH41.

Just installed 5 channel amp (Kenwood XR900-5), subs (JL CP208LG-W3V3), and PAC AmpPro. I have the 8.4 with factory alpines. I planned on using factory speakers for now. I'm getting some major crackling and distortion when I turn the volume mid way or so and have to turn the gains way down to...

Getting ready to install mine when I get my Jeep back. I plan on adding a Fab Four stubby and an Apex winch. I dont want too much rake or "frontal sag". Should I plan on a small spacer for up front?
