I made this adapter to tap into the available power from the 7 pin connector. Not as clean as tapping behind the bumper but useful for camping or other uses.
If you have the tow package the wires are already there you can tap into the back of the 7 pin connector on the bumper with quick taps or use a splitter like this one.

Fused for 30 amps.
It's not just going off road where it is beneficial, airing down for snow can also be a good idea, depending on the snow conditions.
So, the investment in a good air compressor can yield yearlong benefits. (that's what you tell the other half)
Pros: As mentioned above, better traction, more comfort for people in the vehicle, easier on the equipment.
Cons: Loss of ground clearance.
$ to $$$$$.
My JT has the Select Tire Fill Alert System.
I use that with this small tool to deflate one tire at a time:
TIRE DEFLATOR + VALVE TOOL - Walmart.com
I am usually the only one doing this so everyone is intrigued when the horn beeps and I walk over to unscrew it and go to the next tire.
To air...
Interesting question.
I think people mean 2 vehicles. In case of an issue you have a way out.
What I have done is joined up with other people on the trail. People that I have never met before. We agree to hit the trail together. If they don't have a radio I let them borrow my spare one...
I'm going again Saturday 12/18/21.
We will meet at 9 am at the Woodstock, VA Liberty/7-11 (340 W Reservoir Road).
We will get our day passes/maps there and check in to the BOH app for the trail tag.
Weather looks like 60's and rain.
Basic information and a map are here...
I had the same issue. I asked rock hard because I was hearing clicking noises at 100 lb fts. The LCA was loose at the skid plate/axle. They said to go to factory specs. I went to 190 and it went away.
Part of our group split off and did trails 474 to 457 which splits off near AW-8 and ties back in with the main trail between markers AW-4 and AW-3.
Much more technical from what I heard.
There were OHV signs on the trees, but the maps show these to be ATV trails, so proceed with caution.
If you have never been there I recommend going North to South.
The most challenging part of the trail is on the south end, the last 2 miles. If you start with that the rest is underwhelming.
But most people do it south to north.
Fun day today got up to 10 including a JL and two Tacomas that joined us at the Liberty gas station. I was the only JT but I led the ride.
Will probably go again next weekend.
