My 21 JTR is completely stock with 33 AT's. Before I retired, my work commute was 30 miles roundtrip of suburban/rural roads, 35- 50 MPH. Summer MPG averaged 20 - 21. What really impressed me was my 3700 mile road trip back in July when I went to All-4-Fun in Leadville CO. My overall MPG ended...
I have an auto but recall plenty of stories on here about the clutch problems. You'll need to search, but I believe the dealer has no fix for the weak clutch issue. Believe all they do is a software update that really doesn't fix anything. Best fix is for you to install an aftermarket clutch...
Installed mine today. Nice fit. Only issue was with the hardware. They gave me eight M12 washers instead of M8 fender washers. Required a trip to Ace Hardware before the install.
I had recently noticed a rust stain on my driveway below the front edge of the driver side rock rail. Thursday while doing my tire rotation I decided to open up the end caps and check inside. Found loose wet rust flakes several feet back from the front. Used my electrician's fish tape to loosen...
I guess it all depends on where you go off-road. I don't have experience yet with my JTR off-road, but use my 2004 TJ Rubicon off-road regularly. We put it in 4L and keep it there. Basic guideline is 4L under 15mph, 4H when faster. Had several newbies with JK's over the years that stayed in 4H...
Push an O-ring on the pin and lightly lube the threads. Now you can tighten and loosen the pin by hand without the need for tools. The slightly compressed O-ring will keep the pin from vibrating loose.
I'd have to disagree about no FAD with SelecTrac. My 2021 JTR with the Full time auto option certainly has a FAD. It's definitely not blocked off. Just verified that while doing my oil change. Can spin the front driveshaft with both front tires on the ground. I believe the FAD shifts when you...
Can't fault the dealership for denying warranty coverage. OP said all he did was replace driveshafts and regear. Need to go back to whoever did the gearing and get things checked out. All speculation at this point.
I'm sure this was discussed years ago. Before my first tire rotation, I bought a matching wheel. Took it and the stock steel spare over to Discount Tire. They added the correct TPMS to the wheel and switched over the tire and balanced. I've been doing 5 tire rotations ever since.
The ad has popped up about three times now within the past several weeks. Typically happens when I park at work. Figured it's happening since I'm almost at three years.
Discount Tire talked my brother-in-law into using the balancing beads when he went to 37's on his JK Rubicon. He ran into the same issues when airing down. After multiple issues he went back, had the beads removed and weights installed.
