I’m late to the party on this one, but has anyone mentioned that if your EGT’s rise above 1,400F for more than a minute that derate will begin to occur without indicator or warning messages illuminating? I pull a 20’ travel trailer with mine on 37’s and have seen all of the temps you all are...
I was told by my service advisor that if the CEL is on along with an active message in the message center on the dash, to get it somewhere warm to thaw the def or to attempt to drive it on the highway for a longer period of time to allow the Def heaters to do their jobs. If the message goes...
I was informed that my rig was being released back to me yesterday. After multiple very long conversations with FCA and dealer with no resolution to the issue, I was instructed to park in a garage wherever possible and avoid long shut down periods in the freezing temps for now while they work on...
I’m still in the shop making today day 9 now in a loaner. Newest update for my rig is that they do not believe it was the heaters going bad, but the DEF pump losing prime potentially. This is the second DEF pump already and now they are waiting on the engineering team to further review again for...
I’m back in the shop again after a repeat CEL and Service DEF, See Dealer message. I fired it in the morning and it idled for about 5min then about 8mi down the road on the way to work the light and message popped up. I got it in our heated shop for the day at work to let it thaw out which...
Mine will be getting a real good test this weekend with a high on Sunday of -7 F and a low of -22 F without wind chill. I’ll need some sun and heat after this one for sure...
It’s now been a few thousand miles since they replaced the DEF pump in mine and it’s been running great with no new issues in the middle of a MN winter. Maybe It was just a bad batch of DEF pumps they got at manufacture. Build date of 9/2020 on mine. Anyone else close to that for build date on...
So I’ve got my Rig back from the dealer. They replaced the DEF pump in it and cleared the codes. So far, so good after a hundred miles or so. Temps remain in the upper teens overnight here in MN and we haven’t seen too many temps dip below the freezing point of DEF, so now that I think about it...
Most recent update I’ve received so far is that they’re going to put a def pump in it for starters and are working with the engineers to identify any other areas of potential failure. They still don’t know the root cause of it being the heater or the pump causing the initial symptoms and the...
Def is designed to freeze and there is either a sump heater in the tank and in some def applications, Heated lines which I’m not sure the gladiator eco has. I’m not 100% sure but it freezes around 20degrees F, I believe.
I’ve got 3300 on mine and been in the shop twice now within 500mi for the same “Service Def, See Dealer” message and constant CEL. I also got the no restart message both times but the second time it came up it picked up where it left off on countdown miles from the first time. Initial diagnosis...
