Chalk would pull double duty for you...get you the optimal PSI, and yes, leave the mark on the ground if you wanted to measure diameter. Never heard of using toothpaste, but tomato potato! :fist bump:

I'm assuming he means the chalk test method for getting optimal PSI for even tire wear.
