Do you feel the spacer in any way changes the spring response? I am just concerned that you’re now changing spring characteristics or anything else with dampening? Only reason I wasn’t gonna go that route.,
Hi All, I'm trying to fight sag on the front and rear suspension of my JT Willys with the addition of the steel skidplate, 3 piece bumper and an 8k winch. I have the heavier/wider performance rock rails and a fairly loaded slimline 2 rack over the bed. I have the Mopar 2 inch lift kit with...
4 lo it is. It (the experience) was a learning experience for sure and at the end I just committed and swung it in place. I was most concerned whether it was normal and now at least a few people have confirmed it is what happens with those of us who have steep drives. Thanks for the input and...
Just got a Taxa Mantis and have to park backwards and uphill (quite a bit steep for about 100ft) to a gravel flat space on my mountain property. Being new to towing it took a bit of finagling since there is a curve involved to getting it to its home. Anyhow, noticed immediately that the...
an air compressor and an interior detailing. It’s why I bought my soft-top and leave it closed while wheeling even though that sucks. At least I can drive it to the trailheads and trails with it up and off. That dust isn’t good to suck down your lungs either and I hate choking on everyone else’s...
I have a limited slip rear in my Willy’s and a front air locker. I viewed it as the best of both worlds along with 4H auto (so I don’t have to switch back and forth to 4H part time on icy roads) and with that pair have yet to do a run that the Rubicon i off-road with can do and I couldn’t. I...
Couldn’t a simple hook or lever be used for leverage for her? Seems like something could be 3D printed into the rough shape, sanded or filed into exact fitment and 3M taped into position?
Install Delrin liners and anti seize on the hinge pins for my doors that don’t get taken off often. For the front doors (which I take off quite often and also get installed with quick drop-in stainless steel posts/pins in the the Spring, I use lithium grease but it does not stick around as...
If you carry comprehensive then file a claim. I’d imagine the repair bill will be bigger than your deductible? Just depends on how low of a deductible you carry. We have a lot of falling trees and branches so carry it religiously.
That’s usually the trick, it is keeping it in the highest gear at the lowest possible rpm while still doing enough work to maintain speed. Kinda how I tow when I don’t want it revving at 4k in 5th gear going up the mountain passes.
**Edit** -- Looks like 60 degree taper should be fine but I did find some online suggestions that there was something different about the "bulge" but seems that wouldn't be a 60degree taper anymore.
I've done the side to side lug nut play on the stud already and it was just as stable as the stock willys/JT lug nuts that came with the original wheels, which is zero play. They thread smooth but not loose and both sets feel fine so I didn't think it was a stud or lug issue. Since I'm pulling...
Any idea where to find that information on the rim? It's a 2018 stock JK rim. I had no clue they made acorn/cone tapers in different degree ranges. Looking online they stock JK lug nuts seem to be a bulge style and I'm not sure if that's more squat (I can't find anywhere online to physically buy...
It's an amazon link (it is linking to the wrong item for some reason) issue. The actual ones I ordered were in the image attached. They are 14mm x 1.5 thread.--I edited the post above. They should be fine as should the stock Willys/JT lug nuts. I'm at a complete loss why stock rims that should...
I believe so. by deep enough you mean the thread depth/length of the threaded passage in the lug nut? (For lack of a better way to describe it). I’m assuming the acorn/conical taper is standard.
These (below) are what I’m using. I’ve also tried the stock Willys (JT) lugnuts for a short time and...
