I went last May and spent 10 days in the area. OnX worked flawlessly for me.
The other tool that I used and helped immensely in planning the trails I wanted to do was the FunTreks guide to Moab UT Backroads and 4 wheel drive trails. One of the good things in this book is it has the trails...
I acquired a set of these last November from a Gladiator owner who was getting ready to throw them out. They are expensive for if purchase new but were the sliders/steps I wanted from the start. Jeep® Performance Parts Rock Rails
ShadowsPapa's comments make sense and the OP ordered 2" bump stop spacers so I think this has been put to rest.
I just installed 8863-30 in my Gladiator so have done some back ground work also. Synergy Spring's website clarifies why the 2" bump stop spacing is required: "Min bump stop...
I have had a Softopper for a little over a year. I also have a Topper Tent attached to it for sleeping in the back with the tailgate down. It has served me well and 100% happy with it.
I chose it over the Bestop because of the lines like Jerhemi mentioned. I also looked at the Wild Top and...
I think the weight of the tire and wheel combo make a difference. I have run 37" KO2s on stock rims with 4.10s for two years, including a trip from Maryland to Moab, Utah and am happy with the setup. I have seen some 37" wheel/tire combos ending up 40+ pounds heavier than my set up per corner...
37X12.50X17 BFG KO2 load range C on a stock rim seems to be pretty light and not to wide for a 37" tire. Maybe a little short compared to other 37"s but it is just your spare and better than the stock 33..
Good point. I researched the 2.5" Metalcloak's and 2.5" Clayton's, The Clayton's run tall and Metalcloak springs s in general run tall. I am pushing the limits of my LOW Garage door height so initially thought I would rather take the chance to add in a 1/2" spacer if the front ends a little...
I think it is time to upgrade my suspension after running the 1.5” Teraflex / ¾” Daystar spacer lift for the past two years on my Rubicon. I intend to upgrade the suspension based on parts I have already on the truck or have collected in the garage. I know I could buy an off the shelf lift kit...
A leveling kit up front and 37"s is my suggestion. I have been running 37" C rated KO2's on stock rims and 4.10 gears for 2 years and 26K miles. I started with just a 1.5" leveling kit up front for the first year and than added a 3/4" rear spacer. I said I would install a slightly larger lift...
John,
In VA, Pott's mountain Jeep trail is close to Blacksburg and is very challenging, there is a rock garden in the middle that can be very technical. I have done a run in the spring there the last two years Pott's Mountain. Flag Pole Knob like mentioned above. Peter's Mill run is a couple...
I just installed one last week with my SoftTopper for my trip to AOAA in Pennsylvania over the weekend. it worked out well. It took me about 3 minutes each night to setup and would have been quicker with a hardtop. The soft top version uses the same zipper as the rear window so there was a few...
I bought one of these two weeks ago to work with my softtopper. I used it this weekend and worked out better than expected. I realize now that I didn't take any pics at camp but here are two from the driveway after initial install on Thursday night.
It was great meeting everyone yesterday. I would have faired better if I would have run the trails two days in a row. Hitting the badge trails on Friday was uneventful. Yesterday, I ended up high centered twice and had to be winched off a rock in a creekbed. I also lost the battle with the tight...
Looks like the nights are going to be pretty cold for camping this weekend. If I don't see everyone on Saturday morning it is because I am frozen at the AOAA Trailhead campground. 😬
On a serious note. I hope to be out on the trails by 9:30 on Friday and am looking forward to meeting who ever...
I will be there on the 10th and 11th. Looks like I will be with a JK on 35"s both days and a Tacoma on 1 tons and 40's on Saturday. If the group is too big might have to split up. I am looking forward to finally meeting some of you.
I have wheeled with the Tacoma driver since about 2001 and...
