Found this thread after my brother sent me a link with the Mishimoto radiator. Good information in here. Thank you to everyone. I have almost 100k on my JTRD. Probably 20k towing extreme weight in mountains. By extreme I mean 13-20k lbs. anytime I am towing. Just wanted to pass on some kernels...
So, just posting up that I performed the bushing replacement and my noise has gone away. 13 dollar part…pretty easy to pull the shaft with the right socket and and tools. The clutch tool is some kind of vise grip that you can grab the retaining clip on the inner shaft to pull to be able to pull...
I am in the middle of my prep for it. I found a gentleman on the forum that changed out the bushing that may be the culprit. He responded to me last night. I am 170 miles from the nearest Jeep dealer so probably going to do it my self. To get to the bushing you need to pull the passenger side...
FAD(front axle delete) failing. Try shifting into 4wd when it happens, if it goes away then it for sure is the FAD. It just started on mine a couple weeks ago. I have a 21 JTRD too. Kinda pissed about it as I haven’t even really abused this thing like I plan to.
Let me know, I live up in the Bishop area. Headed to Europe today, flying out of LAX, will be back in 2 weeks. If the deal falls through I’ll pick them up on my way back. I’ll have internet, so let me know.
All valid points. I will patiently wait to see if GDE responds here. I think California owners of 3rd gen ED vehicles wouldn’t mind rallying for the money for the attempt. I might even dare say, we would relish an opportunity to show how frustrated we are. I just wanted to ask if anybody knew if...
Just throwing this out there, I don’t know if anybody has suggested this idea. What about a Go Fund Me or some other kickstarter type campaign to see if we can raise the money to have Keith certify his tune for California. 5$ from 20000 ecodiesel owners? 20$ at 5000 ecodiesel owners… I’d pony up...
I have trailer brakes on the trailer so that helps tremendously. That being said, I used manual mode to gear shift down grades to control the weight and using minimal braking. I didn’t get a pic from the towing that day. My signature has my rig and trailer. I’ll post another in the thread. I had...
Now that the temps have cooled off I went for a max tow. I was hauling gravel from a pit and steadily increased the load per trip as the 45 mile one trip has some killer grades. Last tow I had 6 cubic yards of 3/4 gravel( somewhere between 2500-2800 a ton) and the trailer weighs 2800 empty...
