One last question before I order - if I ever remove this, can the original screw be put back in with no damage or marring shown from the ram mount ball? the hex portion looks like it might damage the area -maybe I am over thinking it!

Did you have to cut down the length of the threads on that ball mount to keep it from going deeper than the original screw?

For these roll-up covers with velcro, do they have cross bars that support the cover? I am on the fence between the tri-fold and the rollup. How sturdy is the velcro on the rollup, I am in Texas and heat is an issue.
