The 12" is from the step. I just went out and measured. The top of rse step is higher than the stock rockslider. It would be better with the lift. I took a straight edge from the bottom of the frame which is a couple of inches below the frame of the step.
I run racing optics with a 3 layer non tint plastic on the outside. It's been 9 months on the 3rd layer, I've had rock hits, no damage. It's important to have a non pitted windshield. I do wax it to prolong the layers.
I loose about 1 quart in 4000 miles. It's more when i do need it, gas stations don't have the diesel oil I need.
I do burn a little, a quart in an oil change. It's more the places we go don't carry diesel oil. This where the the Gladiator had been
