  1. FRAM and Champion Labs Affected by First Brands Bankruptcy

There was a plant closure and layoffs at the Albion, IL facility back in March. Come to find out, they also hadn't been paying the employees health insurance for the last couple of months before that point. It looks like Fram, and several others under the FIrst Brands umbrella have been bought...
  2. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

My problem is when it downshifts over and over and over again on a grade where it shouldn't have to at all. If I am going up one long but gradual grade, the transmission shouldn't shift from 8-7-8-6-7-8-7-8-6-7-8 when I have no problems holding speed in 8th when it is off. If I was truly...
  3. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

At least with the automatics, cruise control is a little too ambitious for my driving style. It loves to downshift at the slightest inconvenience and will occasionally drop all the way into 6th when it hits a hill, even when I have no problems holding speed in 8th gear with the pedal.
  4. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

68 miles of miserable Interstate road construction on the way to a ride.
  5. Does Jeep purposely design their vehicles to get 19 mpg?

Not all Jeeps get bad mileage.
  6. What Did You Do FOR Your Gladiator Today?

Yeah, kinda caught me by surprise too. I checked my last service that also had a fuel filter and that service cost $280. They charged $150 just for the 9 quarts of oil according to the bill. I am supposed to do all my service there to maintain my forever warranty crap, but for those prices I...
  7. What Did You Do FOR Your Gladiator Today?

Took it to the dealer for an oil change and a diesel fuel filter. Got rear admiraled for $410 in the process.
  8. What do you think about this - bed swap

The factory fenders are little more than trailer fenders that are bolted to the underside of the bed. I have some concerns about having to relieve the bed floor to allow for articulation but that could be done in a weekend if it had to be done.
  9. What do you think about this - bed swap

I agree as my truck is black, but the white rendering shows details and body lines a lot better.
  10. What do you think about this - bed swap

To make everything line up correctly, I figured that the bed would have to be cut lengthwise and about 4-5 inches would have to be added to get the width even with the cab. I think this would get me to barely clear the stock wheels and tires. If I couldn't make that work, the bed sides will...
  11. What do you think about this - bed swap

When the day comes that my rig gets retired from daily driver status, I have always wanted to pull the factory bed off and convert to a drop-side bed from a Kei truck. It has all the advantages of a flat bed with the ability to have bed sides when you need to stack stuff. The bed widths are...
  12. What’s worn out faster than you expected?

Steering stabilizer - got the death wobbles 25 miles from the warranty expiring. I did get it replaced with no issues though, but I fear this one won't live much longer than the last one.
  13. The true mindset of most Jeep owners

They hate us cuz they ain't us.
  14. Full Size Gladiator?

Ya know, I wouldn't hate this as a factory kit for a QCSB RAM.
  15. Manual Transmission Gladiator to be revived

Technically they could be bringing it back for the Grand Cherokee.
  16. Educate me on Solid State

Solid state relays have an advantage on higher amperage loads in that you will not burn the contacts over time like you would with a mechanical relay. They are also good if you are doing fast switching. The tradeoff is heat so they can't be but in an enclosed box if you are running them near...
  17. Feds Surveillance Tech Mandatory 2027 [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

Sure glad they haven't got there yet with Jeeps...
  18. Feds Surveillance Tech Mandatory 2027 [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I am not convinced the whole EMP doomsday scenario thing would end up being as bad as it is made out to me. CDI ignitions work with at least one ignition coil directly wired to them, and its magnetic field is collapsing multiple times a second as part of its design. Those devices by nature are...
  19. Feds Surveillance Tech Mandatory 2027 [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

They already have hats that show how crazy they are.
