I have a set of the falken 255/80/17 for my winter setup. Love it! In the summer I am running a set of 35x10.50x17 Kenda Klevers. I dont think you will be dissapointed going with a narrower tire.
I wanted to go with the narrow look. Most prefer the wider tires and I just wanted something different than most.
I used to have a couple square body trucks and we always ran 33x9.50's on them.
We currently have a Suzuki Samurai with a set of 33x9.50x15 on it. Looks great!
The hit is not nearly as bad if you can sell your originals. That tire size is highly popular right now for jeeps and other vehicles. For just under 300$ I had the size I wanted after selling my originals.
I posted these pictures in another post but I think this might help you. I changed my original falken tires from a 285/70/17 to a 255/80/17 same tire. They are about a half inch taller 32.8 to 33.1 and 1.5 inches narrorower. The before picture is without the AEV lift and after is with it. Going...
I really like them. I would recommend it to anybody. My summer tires are going to be a 35/10.50/17 kenda's. I'll be posting them later this week. My Milage increased by 2 mpgs also.
I put set a set of 255/80/17 on my Mojave and I really like the look. They weigh about 10 pounds less but have the same 33 inch height and an inch an half narrower.. This will be my winter setup. The pictures below are before the AEV lift and after.
I was concerned about the low mileage fuel numbers as well. I recently sold my 285/70/17 Falken AT3w's and replaced them with 4 255/80/17 Falken ATA3W's. I gained nearly 2.5 miles to a gallon going from 15 to 17.5. I'll be posting pictures later this week as I am putting on the the AEV 2 inch...
I got my Gladiator and Cherokee undercoated. I would recommend that to anyone. Just be sure to take it back yearly to get it checked. Each time I have taken my Cherokee back they have resprayed the whole underneath not just touch up.
I am also in PA. I will be taking my rock sliders off my 2022 Mojave probably this weekend and I want to sell them. Send me a message if you are interested.
My sister has a compass and the visibility is terrible. I would suggest a regular Cherokee with a V6. They are so much more comfortable. Visibility much better and gas mileage is great considering it is a V6.
