I also saw a post where a guy put a 2x4 in the slot and another 2x4 between the wheel wells - then connected them with two more 2x4s. That would keep boxes from sliding toward the tailgate.
Yeah - I don't have a good way either. For something basic, I think I would tie some paracord to one of the D rings, go around the tie-down lugs on the tubs, then to the other D ring. Maybe a molle panel in the back of the bed would be useful for better options. But then we're getting away...
I don't have them in there all the time. They store my camping equipment so the bed ends up full when they're in there - then closed in with the bed cover. If I had more, I might experiment with putting 2x4s in the slots (designed for hauling plywood, etc.) to hold things.
If I remember...
There's a little space. Not quite as good a fit with two sideways.
This is a Plano 1619 and 1719 behind the wheel wells. They won't fit between the wheel wells.
No wheels on these ones. I'm pretty impressed with the Plano boxes in general. I'm about 210 and can stand on these with no problem. Watch for sales. You can usually get the 1619s for anywhere from $12 to $20.
For anyone still considering this, you might be able to do something with the Offroad Gladiator Freedom Panel Rack. offroadgladiator.com. I don't know anything about them. Just saw an ad while I was scrolling....
I'm not sure whether they have improved these doors for the JT/JL but the ones I had on my JKU sucked ass. Good for emergencies but the faster you drive, the further the top half of the front doors pull away from the Jeep. If it's pouring rain, you have to hold them closed by hand or rig up some...
You don't have to go to each of the four lights. You can connect a single wire to where the positive wire from each light terminates - at the connection where the aux switch is. If they are wired in parallel, you could actually just connect to the nearest positive wire. But I prefer to have a...
Do these tri-fold covers interlock in any way? Since only the rear side of each panel latches, I'm wondering whether someone could cut the rubber between the panels and lift up the side without latches. I'm waffling between whether these or something like the BAK X4s with interlocking slats...
Diabolical makes a Gladiator Security Lock Box. I'm hoping to see a video review of it before buying. $600.
