  1. Virginia Wilco Offroad - Bed Rail Tire Carrier

Awesome price... if it wasn't for the wife insisting on having that rear view mirror, I'd be all over this :) (looked at similar setup last year, but losing the mirror and the tonneau made it a no go :( ~ Casp
  2. New Gladiator Rubicon

Grats on the new ride.. LOVE THE COLOR! ;) ... Seeing that photo.. I really feel the need to go give mine a spa day. ~ Casp
  3. How do I get my my jeep out of Theft Mode ?? HELP

Sounds like you could/should install a Bolt lock, just to 'take the hint' from the wife, as it were ;) Sure, it won't stop someone with a cutoff tool, but if it gives her additional peace of mind...happy wife and all that ;) ~ Casp
  4. Newby Looking for Security Options

One last thing (I've not read the entire thread, yet, to see if anyone else recommended.. if they did.. sorry).. I'd recommend a Bolt Lock for the front hood, as well, that installs at the center of the grill, right below the hood. (And, honestly, it SHOULD be a factory option... not sure why...
  5. Replacement parts for ZAutomotive cam?

Already got a hood lock, grabbed the bolt one, a couple of years ago, right before we installed the camera. Might be the reason why the guy thought there was a 'button' to press.. lol (The bolt lock put a metal sheathe around the hood release, and is coded to your vehicle's key. Kinda shocked...
  6. Replacement parts for ZAutomotive cam?

Just heard back from them, this morning... they are, indeed, helping replace the part relatively inexpensively. Man, I wish every company offered that personal touch. Definitely recommend them to anyone.. just kinda wish I would have bought my Tazer brand new from them, now. ~ Casp
  7. Replacement parts for ZAutomotive cam?

So... had one of our maintenance guys at the office come to me, last week, telling me they had to run off some homeless guy who was trying to get under my hood, by 'pressing the button'. As you can imagine, my immediate thought was.. 'Wait.. button?? What button??' Turns out, the trail cam...
  8. Wondering if the former owner of my Gladiator is a forum member

Another pov here, perhaps the missing parts were taken by the dealership/shipping company. Seen that happen way too often when I was doing work for a local repair shop, years ago. After all.. no one is going to miss that little box under the seat.. or a simple skid plate... Right? That all...
  9. Final Decision...Which Lift Kit...Buying This Weekend

General consensus, based on diameter and length is they're rebadged 5160s. They were incredibly stiff to start with.. but after a month or so, they softened up slightly Still much stiffer than the fox shocks were.. it's especially noticable on back roads when curving at 50mph+.. no more crazy...
  10. Final Decision...Which Lift Kit...Buying This Weekend

Went with the newer Bilstein Mopar kit, myself.. couldn't be happier. I've posted a few photos and such about it back when it was installed last year, and it's been fantastic this winter. One thing to note, having used both Fox and Bilstein.. the Bilstein is definitely a more stiff ride. For...
  11. Does Model Year Matter? Any to avoid yet?

21 JTR here, as above, the only real issue I've had is a broken visor, which I put back into place with a repair bracket. (Aluminum) I suspect I have a blown speaker in the bar, and I have a rear seat belt that creaks a lot... Those will likely need to be repaired or replaced on my own, but...
  12. Mopar 2" Lift - Fox vs. Bilstein Shocks

Honestly... there have been reports on here (and I suspect there was some confusion about it at the dealership, as well) about the lift kits being inconsistent with how much they give. Sure, it depends a lot on what you have on the JT, but I wouldn't expect it to be so varied across the board...
  13. Mopar 2" Lift - Fox vs. Bilstein Shocks

Good catch... I've corrected my post to reflect that I meant the new 'Bilstein kit' ;) ~ Casp
  14. Mopar 2" Lift - Fox vs. Bilstein Shocks

The original Mopar springs that came with the Rubicon would sag a lot more than these one do, that said.. I've not had a change to put much into the back yet, except for 10 servers that I moved from one datacenter to another. (bout 600lbs) The kit I installed was the new Mopar performance...
  15. Mopar 2" Lift - Fox vs. Bilstein Shocks

So... after a month of having the new Bilstein Mopar lift on, my general consensus is that the "Fox" (in quotes, due to the fact they're Mopar's specs) are MUCH softer overall, and while they are fairly comfortable on slow offroad trails and such, any maneuvers over 35MPH or so, tend to be a...
  16. Mopar 2" Lift - Fox vs. Bilstein Shocks

Now, since I had already unboxed it, I figured what the hell.. may as well get photos and part numbers for everything, right? :) Springs, rear, I believe: Springs, I believe front: Accessory bolts: Instruction sheet, laughable: .. and because I've already made this too long, here's...
  17. Mopar 2" Lift - Fox vs. Bilstein Shocks

Moving on to the front shocks - The length of the primary shock is approximately also 21" long, and the tube itself is a little less than 16.5" collapsed: The reservoir is again, actually a little smaller than the rear, at approximately 7" long... maybe a bit longer: Diameter is again 2"...
  18. Mopar 2" Lift - Fox vs. Bilstein Shocks

*chuckling* I'll not be having MINE ripped apart, but good idea! :) However, you DID ask for measurements, and I suppose I'm nothing if not thorough. (Let me know if you want weight, too ;) First up.. interestingly enough, there's actually 3 parts to the shocks. Seemingly the front left and...
  19. Mopar 2" Lift - Fox vs. Bilstein Shocks

It's a good question.. I thought someone said the Fox shocks were a variety of the 2.0s, but tuned differently. I believe the consensus on the Bilsteins was that they're actually the 5160s, rebadged. I literally have a crate that showed up, yesterday, with the Mopar Bilstein lift. (To be...
  20. sun visor broken, $500

Add me to the broken visor club.. came home last night, after having the sunrider open on the way home from the office.. flipped the visor down to close and latch the rider. When I flipped it back up.. crash.. that crappy little thin plastic sleeve inside the visor gave up the ghost. Already...
