I think the Soft Top Wranglers don't have the wiring. The Gladiators might be the same?
Maybe the First owner bought it as a soft top and replaced it with a hardtop. Missing the wiring.
On the Wrangler, it makes a bit more sense. It has a pretty big upgrade for slightly more money. On th Gladiator, there wasn't many changes. I had a Willys Sport JT and paid a lot less for it. Some people don't need power locks and windows. It saves them a few grand.
The Wrangler got a lot of...
I've had a soft top Wrangler and Hard Top Gladiator. I preferred the soft top because the entire roof pulls back with just two clips. I absolutely hated the plastic windows though. They scratch stupid easy. The Gladiator only has the rear window, so it might not be a huge issue to replace once...
CA can't even keep the power on during the summer. I don't think CA can handle charging that many cars at any point.
Would be a cool concept if it was solar charged. Our area has a lot of commuting. The state doesn't have enough space to charge the cars in tight urban cities or housing to...
This is a Jeep forum with Jeep owners. Why would a Ford guy come on here and talk about their Ford corroding here?
It's an issue that Jeep isn't fixing. I've owned Chevys, Fords, Hondas, Jeeps, and a bunch of other manufacturers.
Nothing corroded like my Wranglers panels in just over one year...
Ive had a Sport JLU, Willys JT, and now have a Willys Sport XR JLU.
The benefits to my JLU XR
Pros
2.0t has great torque with the 4.56 while getting me 18mpg on the highway. All stock on the 35s.
Cons
Ride is better in the JT
The Utility of the bed
Cheaper
The XR Willys is fun, but I don't...
Glad you got it all worked out. I actually prefer the manual A/C controls.
I have the a 22' Willys Sport XR Wrangler and the new temp controls are annoying. They're buttons instead of the knobs. No Dual Zone either.
I've read a few threads where people had issues with the 8.4". I had a Cherokee rental and I hated it. Really laggy and the interface was cumbersome.
I also thought I read that they were tied to the Vin or needed a code.
Good Luck. 👍
They're all going to have issues like that. I've had three of them and they all had QC issues with paint, hardtop, rusty bolts, etc.
The only issue I would complain about is the leaking.
Agreed. My JL had the clutch pedal stick to the ground on two occasions prior to the recall. It never felt right during the 15k miles I drove it. I got rid of it. I didn't want to deal with the number of issues that JLU had. I don't want to get off topic.
I anyone wants to join the sister forum and dig further in regards to this specific issue. It's free. Yes, the clutch / pressure plate can overheat and grenade. There has been more than 1 documented incident.
🙄
What gets damaged when it blows up?
Instead of arguing, address the issue. You got what you asked for. Threads with similar damage and reported issues.
Some were exploding. I followed these issues among the many posts and threads.
Manual trans owners have been switching to Centerforce to fix these issues.
Here you go.
It's a known widespread issue on JLs. There are literally thousands of posts on the JL forum regarding these issues among many different threads as well...
My Setup
Beamtech Headlight LEDs
Lasfit Fog Light LEDs
I ran this setup on two JLUs and one JT.
I actually bought them temporarily while I scoured for getting OEM mopar LED headlights. I changed my mind and just kept the setup. They are extremely bright and well lit. My friend actually is...
There have been a number of cases documented on JL Wrangler forum. Do some more research. Some people have almost died as a result of their transmission blowing like a grenade and starting a fire. Jeep knows about these issues and they have had a number of recalls on the manual transmissions...
It's not a recall. It is a TSB. The Gladiators were also included.
Jeep is ignoring corrosion issues unless a customer reports it under warranty. They are blatantly selling Jeeps knowing they have a huge corrosion issue. My 2018 Wrangler had it on all doors, hinges, and hood. It started after...
