If I was going to keep it, I’d consider all forged internals for sure. But I’m not going to keep it. The truck will be sold as soon as it is fixed.
Jeep refused service and warranty because of the supercharger. It is now at an independent shop getting a long block swap paid out of pocket. There is no oil left in the engine, it seems like it blew the block. I'll post the carnage pics once I have them, should hopefully be late this week.
I installed the supercharger myself. So no warranty coverage from Magnuson. It is still running the stock Magnuson HP tune.
Engine still ran and had reduced power when I turned it off. No visible signs of damage on the lower block, though it is a very tight area that is difficult to get...
My Gladiator appears to have suffered catastrophic head gasket failure with the Magnuson supercharger. The driver side head gasket looks to have failed, pouring massive amounts of oil onto the driver side cat and throughout the engine bay and undercarriage. It is difficult to see in the photo...
Does anyone have the original packaging, brand and model of the front heat exchanger? I meant to note the 3rd party supplier and model number rather than use Magnuson's supplied part number.
Interesting that the 21s have different throttle and VVT models. I'm currently running the Magnuson tune on my 2021 Mojave (manufactured Oct 2020). The truck does have a tendency to produce very significant power at part throttle and I have to be very light on the pedal to avoid a huge power surge.
I flashed my ECU using my MacBook Pro. Download Parallels for Mac and run the HP Tuners software on a Windows VM. 100% free with the trial, couldn't be easier. No windows hardware needed.
