I went through the fender well. You don't have to take the tire off I do. The well liner I only take the back half off and bend it forward. What takes the longest is taking the battery to get it swapped under warranty. All in about 30 mins.
I went with Vision for both of my trucks- 21 Gladiator and 24 Ram. Both were around $1900. They were purchased when we bought the trucks new though. Sure they will be more getting them on a used. They pd out around $2600 for some work on the Gladiator already so it's useful if you have to use it.
This is my wife! I got her the Gladiator in 21, now there are like 15 that have got one now at her work. They are always putting ducks on each other's jeeps. I understand ducking in the wild, but doing the same trucks over and over is alittle weird. My wife said I just started a collection, but...
I got one on my 21. Third party through the credit union, pd 1800.00. Had to put the jeep in the service center at the dealer and 3200.00 later I got it back with a 100 deductible. They are worth it if you have to use them. The jeep is pushing 90k.
There is a recall for this very issue. Not sure the year model. Mine was still under the 36,000 mile warranty when I had it fixed. Got an email couple months ago about the recall. Pushing 80,000 miles now and no problems. Mine is a 21.
I noticed mine when I was at discount tire getting the tires rotated. I have a habit of walking to check everything while the tires are off, and noticed the seal had failed.
I just did this last night on my wife's jeep. Took about 10 mins. The tailgate light is leds on a board. I'm shocked this one lasted 75,000 miles. $86.00 through the mopar website.
