The reason I bought it instead of a JL or JLU was that I wanted a truck. The Gladiator has the rear end of a Ram 1500, or so I am told. Iām using it for junk, trash, hunting, camping, moving bulky things. It works great.
Iāve jumped about a dozen vehicles with my 21 in the 17 months Iāve owned it, most of them Subarus curiously. Itās now referred to as the SRVā¦..Subaru Recovery Vehicle.
Iām guessing that itās all about perspective. I sold a fairly late model Toyota Tacoma with a V6 and automatic when I bought my Mojave in June of 2021. When I test drove a Gladiator with the Pentastar motor, it felt like a race car compared to the Taco.
Iāve not driven a 2.0. I hope you enjoy...
Iāve driven the Tacoma and the Tundra on and off road. The current Taco motor is inferior to the V6 Gladiator engine by a stretch, and the Tundra is a bloated and somewhat tinny beast. Iāve never driven a Raptorā¦..itās a Ford.
My 21 JT Mojave is an automatic and I have no complaints. That transmission is really something.
But I miss having a manual. My second vehicle is a car, an automatic, and its time is at hand. Yesterday I placed an order for a 23 JLR 2 door with the MT. Not a Gladiator but the next best thing. I...
I see a lot of both Rubicon and Mojave models around here, but Iām thinking that about 75% of the Rubies virtually never see a dirt road, let alone a real rock crawling trail. Even the ones with big lifts and racks and Rotopacks and snorkels and off road lightsā¦ā¦
When I bought my 21 Mojave a little over a year ago, ACC was a must have. My dealership didnāt have any but located one 200 miles away and did a swap. I use it all the time, think itās a great option.
In a soft or hard case on the back seat or the floor in back. I also have a hard locking tonneau and have transported in the bed, but prefer the inside of the cab.
Sounds like a lot of rationalizing going on. If you special order something doesnāt that mean you agree to buy it when it arrives at a certain price?
Presumably you signed something. Maybe take a look at that, including the fine print.
I had a ā13 JKUR with cloth seats. They were fine and my son has it now and they are still holding up very well. My ā21 Mojave has leather, and I like them very much. I didnāt order the vehicle, basically took one off the lot. I donāt know that Iād pay $1700 or so extra for the leather (although...
Technology package, Iām not sure I remember what that contains. Adaptive cruise control and blind spot sensors? I would wonder if the chip shortage might result in some of that stuff being temporarily unavailable.
If you go with the all white Sport S, Iād be tempted to get the grill LineXed. But I agree with the guys recommending a Willys or Mojave for your purposes. Mileage sucks in all of them.
Back in June I had to pay MSRP for my Mojave, but got $11,000 more than anticipated for my 4 year old but low mileage Tacoma, so I was okay with not getting a $2000 discount on the Gladiator. Itās a weird market right now but you might find that you can come out well on the flip given that you...
I had a Tundra for six years. Lots of good characteristics and several bad ones. I much prefer the size, drive and overall feel of my Mojave. But Iām thinking that how you plan to use it will answer the question better because itās an apples/oranges comparison.
When I was looking for a Mojave to buy in May I told the dealership that I didnāt care what color it was as long as it wasnāt black, white or red. Anything else was fine although I did have some non negotiable options that I wanted. I ended up with Sting Gray and couldnāt be happier. I really...
