Someone help me, a non-car-guy, understand why you would wire the winch to a solenoid? I installed a Warn winch and wired it straight to the battery. Did I miss something?

Took the Gladiator out to find the Northern Lights this weekend. Unfortunately, the cloud cover and the CME didn't do us any favors. Did find some great off-road / dark areas to try out the new ditch lights. Did manage to reach a milestone though!

The lights look pretty solid. I'll take another look at them to see if there's anything I need to seal though!

I got my seat rest back hooks installed. I usually set my backpack behind the seat. Now it can hang! Also installed these 50W Amber lights on the a pillar cowl mounts. Took a couple of hours to get them both installed last night. The lights have a DRL option, but I bought the wrong fuse...

What's your process to paint the hardware? Does it scratch off easily? I've found some black replacement parts, but much of what I have is silver. Would love to paint them up.
