Not an expert, but you should be able to install the control arms, track bars, end links whenever and keep them at factory lengths. Then once you get to the springs that change ride height you’ll just need to adjust all of the aforementioned to recenter axel, sway bar angle and caster.
14” because it lines my iKamper up perfectly with the height of the cab and keeps it from becoming a sail. Still have a decent amount of bed depth with that height - way more than the voodoo cross bars I had prior that constantly felt limiting. Thus far it has met all of my needs.
My worry is with the addition of steel bumper, winch and lights my factory springs are already running more compressed than I would like - not a ton up up travel left. I hear that ICON and Clayton run stiffer spring rates, not sure if stiffer than factory diesel springs though I suppose.
Hey everyone,
Does anyone here have any experience with ICON or Clayton gasser 2.5 springs on a diesel? Looking to achieve 2” on lift up front and it looks like the diesel specific springs from Clayton would net closer to 3-3.5” on my overland. I figure the added weight on their gas springs...
I had this same issue for months. Blamed wheel speed sensors, abs sensors, abs modules. Finally a tech found an abs sensor plug that wasn’t fully seated. Haven’t had the issue pop up again.
I have had mine on for about a week now and overall am very happy. Their website said 4-6 week wait, took 8 weeks for mine and am still waiting on the right mounting brackets. Good on them though for overnighting me some alternate brackets so I could have a working rack in the meantime.
There...
I got this one on Amazon, came with a bunch of rivnuts as well. Only used maybe 5 times but it worked perfectly in each instance. Looks like there is currently a $10 off coupon.

My diesel on 35s rarely downshifts, but it does happen occasionally. No more than any stock gasser on the highway encountering hills - certainly not annoyingly so. I do not have a lift, only a level…not sure how much the additional lift would play into things.
Noticed you had the JCR half rack. How is the visibility out of the rear window below it? Thinking of pulling the trigger soon and it will have a full time RTT, just want to make sure I go with an option that will give me some sort of visibility.
