Fair. I'm in NJ. We use so much salt that the roads have high blood pressure. I'm convinced they brine the roads for fun. If I look at something on my truck wrong, it rusts. I've resorted to spraying SaltsGone on my truck with a pump sprayer during the winter.
I feel like at this point most everything that is powder coated steel will rust at some point. It's inevitable. The corrosion starts at the bolt holes or thin spots, and then just bubbles underneath the finish.
For my side-steps, I got a set of Havoc HS2 hoop steps that were stainless steel...
Hi all - I've been in the market for a bed rack for some time. I have a 14' fishing kayak that I want to haul on top of my truck, and it exceeds the weight limit of roof bars. I also wanted full access to my bed, and since I don't plan on running the rack full-time, I wanted it to be pretty...
Thanks for sharing. I just used up my last complimentary oil change on my '22, so I'll be DIY on the next one, so I picked up 3 cases. I just need to get some filters now.
So surely this has happened to most all of us who have bought aftermarket bumpers, brush guards, rock sliders, etc...you buy a nice powder coated part, put it on, and after a few years, you start to get some brown spots in the corners, near welds, or around certain edges. What do you do then...
I've had the Tazer JL Mini installed in my '22 JTSD since shortly after I purchased it. I've had no issues besides one random time where my tire settings reset and my speedometer was off. It took me 5 minutes to rectify the issue once I realized why I was blowing past everyone on the highway...
Update - there does appear to be a new version of the installer software. I downloaded that and it seems to have corrected the issue and I can install now.
For archive - if anyone gets the Checking for Update 100% message and it gets stuck, install the latest Program Utility and it should work.
Did you ever figure this out? I just tried updating my Tazer JL while my Jeep was in for service and I had it unmarried, and I'm getting the same thing. My computer is communicating fine as I can update the light show, but when I open the file in the Update menu, it sits at Checking for Update...
I'm convinced most people who have massive duck collections buy them themselves. I've had my truck for 3 years, and while I'm biased, it's a pretty solid looking rig with lots of uniqueness. I have yet to have a single duck put on it. I pass a few jeeps that are mostly stock around town that...
I just had my GG windshield replaced a few weeks ago. Took a golf-ball sized rock that was launched out from between the dual rear-wheels of a semi coming out of a farm road while I was going ~60 mph. The rock was so big I saw it and actually physically dodged thinking it was going to murder...
I have THESE from Amazon. They're smoked, so on my black powder coated bumper, they look like the parking sensors when they're off, but then glow red when on. Had them on for ~3 years with no issue. I have the Rough Country Tubular rear bumper.
I put lights in my after-market bumper as it had cut-outs for the parking proximity sensors which I don't have on my truck and the holes drove me nuts. They are a perfect fit for a round LED clearance light, so I put them in the holes and wired them up via a trailer harness splice to come on...
I did the same thing @ShadowsPapa did. Bought it off Amazon. I like that kind of rail better because it's very low profile. I did the sides and front edge of the bed. I've seen some even install it into the floor for tie-downs for motorcycles, etc.
The attachments are moveable and...
Yep. This. I have the Banks iDash on my 22JTSD and one of the fields you can have it display is the regen status. It'll show a regen even when the dash doesn't. It happens every now and then for me - if I drive on the highway, it'll keep the soot levels down without a regen, but if I spend a...
Also, for posterity sake - if anyone has this issue and had bed liner applied (Line-X in my opinion) - overspray can get into the tailgate mechanism and cause issues. I had to take the access covers off and use a pick and scraper to clean off some overspray from the latching mechanism and the...
Love my KO2's on my '22 JTSD. I think I paid $325 from the off-road shop that put my lift on a few years ago.
I tend to get the sense that those that do a lot of off-road/crawling don't tend to love the KO2's, but for folks like me who do most of our driving on-road, but do venture off from...
Interesting. I got one of these back in July (Prime Day deal I think) and charged it up when I got it and threw it in my truck and hadn't touched it since. I was away for work and went to start my truck yesterday and it wouldn't turn over, so I grabbed it from under the seat. Still had a full...
I added THESE tied into the existing bed light wiring. I had to upgrade the tape to 3M tape but I stuck them under the rails of my BAK X4S tonneau. They're plenty bright to light up the bed. Doesn't solve your switching issue, but just wanted to recommend the lights. Cheap too.
Yep. Winter blend kills my mileage here in NJ. At least on my gas car (Volvo). I go from 24 down to ~20 in the Winter.
My Gladiator is a diesel - I haven't really noticed much of a difference there, but I do run an anti-gel that adds a little to my cost.
