I believe different front end on the scrambler is going to help keep the v8 within government spec range. I doubt the scrambler will be speced to tow more than 5k so that might be a reason as well.
Big tires and small engines = terrible MPG. However the 5.7 with big tires also = terrible MPG….if I’m gana have terrible MPG give me the roar of the v8 over any small block+turbo….
I ended up doing a decent sanding job over the entire thing and re coated with black rattle can . You are correct it was just surface corrosion. I did it last year and everything looks good to this day. When I bought it I was getting info on another thread here and a previous buyer advised that...
If you get the Amazon one paint it before you put it on. I went with the Amazon one a couple years ago and the finish coat isn’t terrible but after a year on I took it off and did a new coat of black. A lot of the corners were getting surface rust.
Engine is definitely more quiet on start up. I do alot of off-roading up in the Sierra Nevadas and in Joshua tree so I see hi temps a lot which is why I went with the heavier oil. I change every 5k and have had it in for at least the last 5 oil changes. Before I was using the 0/20 by LM but the...
I use the 5/30, the green dye is good for tracking down oil leaks. We use it for a lot of vehicles at our shop and I started using it in my jeep for the last 5 oil changes.
I have 2 buddies that I regularly wheel with that have 3rd gen tacomas. They even say that 90% of taco drivers are douchbag bro bros… they hate wheeling with Toyota groups because they always have a fight/argument break out between people. My group has a couple raptors a hand full of jeeps and...
There’s a fellow member on here with a bright green/yellow Mojave and he posted quite a bit about it. After driving a 4 inch lifted rubicon with it installed at an offroad event I went home and pulled the trigger. The rubicon had a ton of flex and the owner swore the highway drive/ride was night...
I’ve had mine on for 3 weeks now and absolutely love the way it drives in the freeway. Also no more head toss on speed bumps, which I deal with daily. Can’t wait to get it on some dirt next month to see how it performs.
I put a 1.5 terraflex spacer kit on my Mojave and it definitely changed the ride. I would do shock extensions or just do new longer shocks and a true 1.5 coil. The spacer is probly compressing the spring hence the rough ride.
Do yourself a favor and do the 4 link rear upgrade. Night and day difference without that track bar in the rear, absolutely love how my jeep drives now.
Well, I just took off all my stock Mojave parts, I’m talking rear upper and lower arms rear track bar, front upper and lowers and front track bar as well as springs…only thing I don’t have are the shocks as I kept those on with extensions. Do you live in Cali?
Yes they do, I looked at there coils for a bit and thought about doing them but when I called and talked to a rep he told me they are on the firm side of the spring rate. I feel like the shocks and coils make the Mojave ride what it is and if you went with a stiffer spring you won’t have that...
