I didn't take any photos of the removal process. Yes, they're a pita. I broke 2 or 3 plastic arms that insert in the top metal clips near the bolts that hold the roof in place below the rear window. I'm honestly under the impression that there is no way to remove that rear body panel without...
Thanks! I did the cutouts for both wiring and for venting the Auxiliary battery I'm going to install on the rear passenger side.
The extruded aluminum really is beefy (I used 40mm), and I like the multiple options it gives me for how I want to configure the actual storage area.
Sort of/almost/in progress... Holidays took all of my attention this year.
Here's where I am now:
More too follow this week. Feel free to ask any questions.
Truth is definitely stranger... Having had XJs and TJs and eventually being able to hunt down their electrical gremlins is one thing... The way things are wired, networked, and interrelated today makes home diagnosis significantly more challenging.
I almost expect the system to talk to me and...
Update: Dealer can't get me in until tomorrow afternoon, but they did scan my rig when I dropped by. Here's the updated DTC list:
Note: Although I have begun the overland mods I have not tapped into any OEM electrical runs other than via a splitter from the console 12V (the only ignition...
Orso Nero (Black Bear in Italian). I live in Maine - home to one of the largest black bear populations in the lower 48. My wife is of Sicilian descent. My rig is black. It all just works.
First things first; I searched but did not find this particular DTC listed anywhere in the forum.
Yesterday afternoon my 21 JT popped on the check engine light with the codes listed in my screenshot below. I have not noticed any driving/handling/performance difference yet.
Heading to the...
Okay so progress has been a little slow, partly due to having to run wire and partly due to the holidays and all of the things that need to be done to get ready. This is just a quick update photo on where I am as of this morning. The area behind the extruded aluminum to the back of the cab will...
2.5" Eibach front springs, 1.38" rear spacer to retain Max tow springs.
Any front shock travel issues with the 2.5" front springs? Really like that setup - I'm of the same mind... Don't want to lose MaxTow and cargo capacity on my JT Sport Overland build.
Ok, so things slowed down enough for me to make some more progress on this rear seat conversion. Mock-up starting to take shape now. The right 2/3's will be a storage compartment using the same aluminum extrusions as my deck base.
Behind the aux battery holder will be a vent cutout. The...

My first post ever to the Gladiator forum.
I'm aware of the other rear seat delete posts, but I thought this would be useful for someone who is looking to do something a little different.
Phase 1: build a base platform with extruded aluminum rails.
Phase 2: custom fit and seal a plywood...
