  1. Anybody else using a wireless portable compressor?

Last Christmas there was a sale on the Makita with 2 batteries. I snatched one up and I have used it 2 times on runs. I have been using one that works off the battery but it took a few minutes to get going. With the Makita, I just set the pressure setting and start. When I get through, I just...
  2. Lest see your CB/HAM/GMRS radio install.

I mounted my FT-857D for use on a few bands. I can receive Ham radio frequencies, FRS/GMRS frequencies, and CB radio frequencies. The antennas are hooked up to the radio for multiple bands. The radio is under the back seat, speaker under the front seat, and microphone on the dash. Any questions?
  3. Gladiator is crap for towing

I feel the Gladiator will tow up to (in my case) 5500 pounds. There is a cost. The motor doesn't make a lot of torque so any load (wind or hills) have great impact while trying to maintain 65 or better. The truck never ever sees 8th gear and rarely 7th. I am ok with that knowing the torque...
  4. Usless Worthless Mods and Accessories (WTF?!? Thread)

I keep water bottles where that thing would be parked on my JTR.
  5. Travel Trailer advice

I got one of those as well. Works great. On the towing capability; I just know from towing a Coleman Rubicon 16 footer (with the slide out) that the motor is being loaded quite a bit. The trailer tag says that max loading gets the weight up to 5100 lbs. I have noticed that towing on flat and...
  6. Hi, and what do I do about...

    Lucas electric; Prince of Darkness!
  7. We’re screwed! [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS. MEMBERS BANNED]

These damn things are like Swiss Army Knives. Once you get it in your pocket, you reach for it instinctively. So, having one in the stable is enough for me. It's paid for and parked in the garage ready to be pulled out and used for when needed. ...and I just picked up a 24 Tundra TRD Off Road...
  8. What should I know about the 3.0

I have tried to forget as much as I could about that junk (Thomas).
  9. What should I know about the 3.0

I am not so concerned about where it is made. I am concerned about the design and quality of the manufacture. That VM motor I had in the Alpha, was pure engineering junk. Cast iron jugs and aluminum heads at the compression levels of that diesel were where they messed up. I was buying heads at a...
  10. New and Old Jeeps

    Thanks for that.
  11. New and Old Jeeps

Just out of curiosity, is that Kaiser Truck a full sized truck, or is it about the same size as the Gladiator?
  12. What should I know about the 3.0

As I stated the motor was made by VM for that Alpha Romeo. Minor correction. I am glad you have good luck with the motor in the Liberty. V/R Tim
  13. What should I know about the 3.0

The only thing I can say is the motor is made by VM as I understand it. I had an 87 Alpha Romeo 33 Station Wagon back when I lived in Italy. The motor was absolute crap! It was a 3 cylinder turbo diesel. I had to replace the heads on that motor about once a year. That motor sucked. I got rid of...
  14. Jeep’s technology compared to Toyota is stellar

I hear ya on the tech side of things. I have owned Toyotas since my 1979 FJ-40. Technology lags yes. So, when I bought a 24 Tundra Off Road, I expected at least Home Link rear view mirrors. I didn't think to check until I got to the house to program the garage remote, there was no button. I...
  15. 2024 Gladiator Release

I don't think it is that dire. There will be a glut of new vehicles on lots all around the country and this will cause dealers to move the product. 2024 will probably be a buyers market. Patience!
  16. Racetrack Tailgate Light seen in the wild

That's what I was thinking. Musta been a bin of leftover parts from the Mopar warehouse.
  17. So far, how many states has your Gladiator been?

    4. Texas, New Mexico (home), Arizona, and California. When I went to California, I had to get a co-signer to fill my gas tank to escape.
  18. What First: 37s or Lift?

I would try to do without the lift. Setting, geometry and other critical things get effected by rotating (even ever so slightly) the axle to accommodate the lift
