What has worked for me is to close the door until the first click. Just enough for it to catch but not enough to fully close the door. If I fully close it, I get the horn. If I just barely close it enough for the first click so the door can't be opened without the key, but not enough to fully...
Jealous of your Moab trip!! Great place, great photos, and I'm digging your JL! No spare hanging off the back really makes it look pretty squat and nimble.
I'll never understand the KO2 measurement thing. I get that tire size with change a bit here and there with PSI, weight, etc...but it...
Agreed with the above.
-Change oil
-Stabil in the fuel tank
-I also cycled ethanol free gas for 2-3 tanks before I left as well
-Used the NOCO battery charger
-Forgot to inflate tires but they are at 35 PSI so should be fine
-Contact insurance (USAA) and let them know I'm gone to get a discount
This kind of stuff is also why I didn't even consider a diesel gladiator. I'm all for pre-emissions diesels. Too complex and expensive these days. It's unfortunate.
2022 with a manual here. I was getting 19-20ish with a good mix of city/hwy driving with my stock Willys after my first oil change at 3k miles. I didn't pay much attention it until then. Now, with 35s, I get around 16-17 give or take depending on how aggressive I am. I'll agree, there's not much...
I second the E-Z-out idea. Shouldn't be much of a problem since the bolts are already rounded out. Just get a good set, right size, lightly tap it with a hammer to seat it and work it carefully until it comes out. Penetrating oil wouldn't hurt either as mentioned above. I used the E-Z-out and...
This year hit me pretty hard as I owed about 9k due to some capital gains that I thought I might have been exempt from. But people getting thousands back.....that money could have been invested throughout the year and over time (years) the compound interest would be much more valuable than "new...
Video link isn't working Tony. I don't have access to my MT Gladiator for a while, but from what I remember with the ESS and manual I would shift to neutral and come to a stop with clutch out and brake applied. Once completely stopped and brake applied the ESS would kick in and engine would...
My wife (GF at the time) went through this recently. She was coming from a 2015 Forester and had ridden extensively in my 2 door JK and Gladiator. The JK, being short wheelbase, soft top, manual everything, wasn't her favorite and understandably so. She really loved my Gladiator though. We test...
Canāt help much, but I do have a manual as well and often leave it running (neutral, p-brake on) when I make quick trips inside places. Iāve never had what you are describing happen. But I also have a tazer that automatically disables ESS when I turn on the vehicle.
This sucks to hear :/
14,500 on my MT with no issues so far. Hope you get it worked out soon. Software...hardware...maybe they'll replace it? Almost sounds like there's a software glitch that is reading wrong or maybe there's something causing the clutch to slip constantly resulting in heat...
What about a 2 door JK? Think the 2.8 is too small for that? I'm debating on V8 vs R2.8 swap for my 2 door and have read that the TJ platform is about as big as you'd want to go for the power it puts out. I'm also iffy on all of the emissions stuff for the 2.8 but don't want a rattletrap'd 4BT.
2015 2dr JK Willys - shares DD duties with my 2022 Gladiator (until I finish putting tons under it)
2022 Gladiator is DD and mall crawler for now. Lifting once back from deployment so the 35s look appropriate then wonāt touch it for a while. Maybe.
Wife has a 2023 Gladiator she DDs. Working on...
Will be changing mine when I'm back stateside. It's got ~15k on it so not a terrible time to change. Did you happen to peak at the front fluid? I imagine it's quite a bit cleaner, but I'm considering changing that one at the same time as well.
Nice rig. Choosing the diesel might make "running into the ground" occur faster than a gasser, but you'll certainly enjoy more power and a much more enjoyable driving experience until that happens! :)
I'd research into the high pressure fuel pump issues and consider what can be done to...
