Do dealers offer the new half doors, or are they only a option when building new? If they fit a hardtop, I wouldn’t mind switching all of them and that would solve my problem without having to fix anything

Yeah I think I will give Geico a call and see if it would affect my premium first, and then make a decision about doing it through them or waiting and seeing if I can find a used donor door

Not too worried about the carfax or anything since I plan on keeping it for a long time. More concerned on the cost to repair out of pocket vs difficulty of DIY vs impact on insurance premiums

Thanks! I’ll probably get new weatherstripping if I go the DIY route. For aligning the hinges, is it just making sure the gaps are even and torqueing down, or do you have to use shims or anything? And are there specific torque values for any of it?

Thanks for the replies. Called a couple dealer collision shops to get a quote on paint and most asked me to bring it in for the VIN even if I did everything but the paint myself.
