Thanks for the post. Definitely a lot easier your way than pulling off parts in order to takeoff the serpentine belt. Definitely a duck knuckle buster job though.
Came across your thread and looking and doing this. Interested in using the pry bar as you did so I don’t have to take off the air hose and drop the pice that sits below the alternator in order to access the 1/2” square. How were you able to return the tensioner back to the starting position...
Ended up going a different route but used your work as a base. I ended up using a pair of locking hood latches (partly for the look that comes with it). I still will play around to try and make it look more stock but not bad. Thanks for your posts that helped ne with the fabrication!
If I did it (and am able to remove the aux jack) I’d dremmel and mount something like this. May not be exactly flush but the cover would still close and it would look fairly stock
I see what you're saying now. But no, I would still want my phone mounted to the dash for other uses. Carplay is good for navigation and music but still want quick access to the phone for other apps/ gps navigation (not google or apple maps)
I will prob go close to that route if I can't get the headphone jack out. I just figured I'd try and keep everything nicely in that area. And since I have no reason for a headphone jack, thought that could be a prime spot
I do. I upgraded the radio and have to plug into the new USB port (aftermarket carplay doesn't talk well stock hardware/software). Looking for a good place to mount the new USB.
EDIT: Not looking for alternate mounting locations; I’ve found a few easy ones. Just wondering if anyone has taken the dash apart for the the below thought.
Has anyone looked at changing the headphone jack in the media compartment on the dash?
I've upgraded my radio and in order to use...
Looking at doing something similar. How have you found security is with those pin locks? I know you mention someone can still get in, but do you feel they are strong enough to deter the convenience thief?
Alright so I'm not sure which to go with...
Both Rough Country: Either a 2.5 level kit or the 3.5" Lift Kit | N3 Shocks | Dual Rated Coil Springs Suspension?
I've got the 2020 sport, with low profile fenders I installed, a steal front bumper with winch, and a RTT (roof top tent) on the back...
