I have a 2022 JTRD, AEV package same as yours. In the beginning i sat down with a friend who is a general manager of a custom off road shop. We talked about the gears, i had a similar thought as yours. Were they the right ones, he thought AEV was right in choice they made. He also pointed out...
Did this in 2019, great fun, tons of mud. I would suggest going to TUK as well, maybe even intstead of Deadhorse, as you can camp on the Arctic ocean up there. Both great, planning on 2024 to do it again.
Crazy times, sorry for the headaches. Always a crapshoot when we head out but that are you gonna do? Don't hesitate to reach out if you need anything. I'm pretty slow this week workwise.

DeserDog,
I'm about two hours away from Butte(Butt). Is there anything i could bring you guys?
Can't change the crappy situation or service issues, but willing to try and lend a hand.

Had a Taco for a short time, even the xtra cab was too small. To me, small trucks feel like I am in a car. Low seat, legs stretched out in front of me. I hate this. Which is why do...
Finally picked it up yesterday.
Besides AEV stuff, added Baja Designs fog lights and ace sliders.
Surprised how much nicer the ride is then my CJ-7, no not really.
Pretty happy so far.
Yes, i make sure i pull as straight as possible, using directional anchors. This comes from a climbing/rigging background. Don't winch a ton. I try to avoid it if possible.
Can get photos to you, truck camper had a pack rat move in, and i'm still dealing with an electrical issue.
Winch for...
Hi,
I have a similar setup for our offroad camper/truck. Wired front and rear, and switch it front to back as needed. I went this way because i didn't want to have to carry the weight all the time, plus it's not exposed to the elements constantly.
Heavy yes, somewhat hard to store on the truck...
