  1. Recall: 1M+ Jeep Wrangler and Gladiator Fire Risk (June 9, 2026)

I have an EcoD and checked right after the recall was announced -- mine was not on the list. BUT...checked a few days later, and it is now there. It apparently took them a few days to load in all the affected VINs. Check again out of an abundance of caution.
  2. Reduce Noise with interior roof panels install?

Yes. Installed Hotheads two Summers ago. Improve road/wind noise and also improve heat/cool protection in Summer and WInter.
  3. DPF code (engine light) at 55K

Actually, I didn't use AI. I used the text of the regulation from the national archives. (I'm not a lawyer, but I can play one on TV.) Link to the current regulation: https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-40/chapter-I/subchapter-C/part-85/subpart-V/section-85.2103 Llink to regulation at the time I...
  4. Regen Observation

Is there a way to observe or be notified when a Regen occurs or has occured on a stock EcoD Gladiator without an aftermarket sensors (like iGauge)? I'm just coming off a DPF replacement at 55K miles. Wanting to keep a closer watch.
  5. DPF code (engine light) at 55K

UPDATE: Got a follow-up call from the representative at Jeep Wave about my claim. He is trying to offer me an extended warranty with the "same value" as what I had to pay for the installation of the new exhaust gas sensors ($374), which will only amount to rental car coverage if my Rubi ever...
  6. DPF code (engine light) at 55K

After my last post, the service department called me back to report the repairs were completed -- several days ahead of their original end-of-week forecast. Here are the pertinent details from the invoice: CHECKED FOR DTC'S AND HAVE P2002-00-DIESEL PARTICULARE FILTER EFFICIENCY BELOW...
  7. DPF code (engine light) at 55K

Quite a bit new to share today on the DPF issues I've been having. After opening a case by calling Jeep Wave, they called me back. I had a level-headed but stern conversation with them. The gentleman tried to just give me the party line "sorry, not covered." But I presented him with enough...
  8. DPF code (engine light) at 55K

For future readers, I have also opened a claim with Jeep Wave, and will use the following reference from the EPA's official website for reference. Seems pretty bright-line that the EGRs are covered. § 85.2103 Emission warranty. (d) An emission defect warranty applies as follows: .... (iii)...
  9. DPF code (engine light) at 55K

Here's the lates from the dealership after dropping my EcoD off this morning: Inspection Notes: RECOMMEND REPLACING EXHAUST GAS TEMPERATURE SENSORS 1/2 AND 1/3 - SEIZED IN DPF - NOT COVERED UNDER EMISSION WARRANTY RECOMMEND REPLACING DIESEL PARTICULATE FILTER - CHECK ENGINE LIGHT - COVERED...
  10. DPF code (engine light) at 55K

Here's the only detail I have from the service invoice. (Sorry they are YELLING): CUSTOMER REPORTS THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT IS ON. DIAGNOSE AND ADVISE. CAUSE: EVERIFIED CUSTOMER CONCERN. CONNECTED THE SCAN TOOL AND CHECK FOR DTC'S AND HAVE P2002-00-DIESEL PARTICULARE FILTER EFFICIENCY BELOW...
  11. Dealer diesel repair shop recommendation - Washington State

I've been using Seattle Jeep in North Seattle since 2022. Their service department is kind and responsive. (Ask for Sage or Eliza.) All warranty standard service, mostly under warranty. I can't speak the diesel prowess of their mechanics. The service department is way better than the dealerships...
  12. DPF code (engine light) at 55K

2022 Ecodiesel, bone stock drive train and exhaust. Just past 55K miles, and at the end of 1.5 hour drive two weekends ago my engine light came on. Scanner code said problems with DPF, and the code could not be cleared by my mechanic friend's scanner. Good news is the EPA requires the diesel...
  13. Talk me off the ledge…

I have a stock JT ecodiesel Rubicon, and towed a flatbed trailer care hauler of similar ilk 200 miles to Salem, OR area from Seattle, WA and back two weeks ago at the beginning of August. Got 25 mpg towing the empty flatbed at freeway speeds--no cooling issues, ever. Got ~19 mpg towing back...
  14. What's the story here? (wrong answers only)

Keeps the mice from chewing through your wiring harness...
  15. Gas Mileage?

'22 Rubicon Ecodiesel with stock tires and 26K miles. Around town I sit between 22 to 24 mpg. On the freeway, the Christmas-gas engine really likes 55-60 mph. When at those speeds I've kissed 28 mpg a couple times. At more typical freeway speeds (65-80 mph) mileage backs down to 25-26, probably...
  16. Aux. Battery: When did yours die (or how old is it now if it hasn't)?

In my case the conclusion is simpler than your hand waving: Both batteries went "bad" (wouldn't hold a full charge) within earshot of each other. The facts for my almost-2-year-old JT: 1. Extended driving/trips over multiple weeks => The ESS never kicked in and the "Auto-Start/Stop Not...
  17. Aux. Battery: When did yours die (or how old is it now if it hasn't)?

I've had my still-under-warranty '22 EcoDiesel Rubi with 31K miles in to the dealer twice for persistent ESS failure message "Auto Start/Stop Not Ready Battery Charging." The message /NEVER/ went away. (It is more than a little annoying that this message doesn't show up as an 'error', just as...
  18. '22 EcoDiesel burning oil

Great question. (I'd forgotten I posted this.) The good news for me is that after initially burning over a quart of oil during the initial break-in period (10K miles), it burned nary a drop (non-scientific assessment.) I've had no further problems. So my advice to other Ecodiesel owners is...
  19. HPFP Replacement Recall - Post Fix Review

I called my dealer a couple weeks ago and they scheduled me for the HPFP replacement last Monday. After my JT was at the dealeship the entire day, they told me they had been unable to find all the parts: "waiting for an O ring". Picked up my JT the next morning with /nothing/ done to it. They...
  20. considering a gladiator, but got some requirements

FWIW - I'm 5'8" with a 28" inseam. (Stumpy.) I fit comfortably in a gladiator, but my seat position is ALL THE WAY BACK. Can't imagine the Gladiator working well for someone coming in at 6"6" with longer legs.
