  1. 500 miles - 'unsafe to drive'.

I don’t personally understand dealers that don’t want to or deprioritize service on vehicles not purchased there. People move all the time (geographically), and even if your dealership sales team dropped the ball last time by forcing a customer to go somewhere else to buy the vehicle, why in the...
  2. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

I can confirm blue ridge’s attic tightening system is a potato. It’s been a while since I installed mine (still remember the cursing), but did you have to sew the ones to swap over to them?
  3. Question for the Sport Gang

If you wear glasses, single use optics cleaning towelettes fit in there pretty well. If you have a 3D printer, you can print a little mascot to put in there. Or just an extra duck maybe. I have the same cubby (wanted manual windows specifically) and ha a little 3D printed Buddha in there. I’m...
  4. Cheap quick mods: What have you done?

    It’s likely this one https://maximus-3.com/suspension/jl-wrangler/maximus-3-jl-jt-drain-plug-skid
  5. Rain & Muddy Water Deflectors for Mirrors or Doors

I’ve also found that using the windshield wash would just move the dirt/salt from the windshield onto the side windows, making windows and side mirrors useless. Through experimentation, I’ve found that short blasts of windshield wash cause the grime to move up and over the truck. Longer pulls on...
  6. Basics for keeping in my wife's JLU

Kitty litter, folding shovel, folding max-trax type of device? As you well know, yanking on a car without recovery points gets sketchy. Perhaps some self-recovery supplies might be safer with a stranger?
  7. Clutch noise/clunk when warmed up

Maybe similar to the slop we hear from the transmission as discussed starting post #4 in this thread? https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/backlash-when-creeping.71011/#post-1160678
  8. Economical Camping ?

Not sure what you’re using your cooler for, but I’ve been happy with using frozen 16oz bottles. Freeze a 24 pack at home, prechill the cooler with some other frozen bottles. Pack the cooler and items as full as possible with food/frozen water bottles. When staying at a hotel, they often have a...
  9. Charging Jeep batteries affects WiFi connection

It’s not quite an app issue. CarPlay connection initiates over BT, but then tells the phone to disconnect from any current WiFi because CarPlay needs to connect via WiFi to get enough bandwidth to do its thing.
  10. Charging Jeep batteries affects WiFi connection

Indeed this is what further testing is showing: my 3rd party wireless CarPlay adapter is showing in my BT device list as UConnect. Unplugged the adapter and so far WiFi is stable
  11. Charging Jeep batteries affects WiFi connection

I’ve been struggling with intermittent WiFi connectivity issues on my iPhone when in rooms of the house that are close to the garage and finally traced it to the source. I’ve been charging my Jeep’s batteries using a NoCo charger: hood open, charger attached to positive and negative terminals...
  12. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS]

“Always point the muzzle in a safe direction”, eh, feet don’t count.
  13. Order error

    Depends.
  14. Learning to use a winch, safely, suggestions?

For sure, one can write a “warning” about doing anything incorrectly, including yanking on your own pecker. To be clear: I mean do it right, when I suggested it.
  15. Learning to use a winch, safely, suggestions?

Maybe keep your ears open for anyone that needs any bushes pulled out on their property, which is another great use for the winch.
  16. Traction boards - worth hauling or forget about it?

They obviously have legitimate use scenarios. If mounted outside, the downsides are UV damage over time and potential for them to grow feet and walk away. Downsides of keeping them in the bed is the space requirement and having to put them there after use (when muddy/sandy). Depending on how...
  17. I Finally Got Ducked

Made my day when I got my first one, and promptly sent me to Amazon to look for the largest pack with good variety to pay it forward 70-fold.
  18. I Finally Got Ducked

Look brother, I’m gonna level with you. Aside from that one clown who thinks ducking jeeps is girly, everyone, and I mean EVERYONE who sees a new post in this tread and clicks on it, wants to see the duck!
  19. Lights on but engine doesn’t start/turn over - single click then restarts

Here’s one I saved that shows the mini-jumper cable to expedite jump starting. Haven’t had a need to use it yet, just saved the photo
  20. Clutch Recall (2/23/23): Clutch Pressure Plate May Overheat -- Affecting 70,000 Manual Jeep Wranglers and Gladiators

There also seem to be frequent reports of dealership work being performed poorly, so you may actually be worse off after the clutch recall is performed on a vehicle.
